Amazingly, even up till today, a new species of mammal can still and has been discovered in Kalimantan, though no live specimen has yet been seen by human beings. However, camera traps placed in the Kayan Mentarang National Park in East Kalimantan have photographed a cat-like creature, not once but twice. The animal is slightly larger than a pussy cat and has dark red fur and a long, bushy tail.
None less than the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has announced this staggering discovery today. The WWF has consulted several Bornean wildlife experts and most have been convinced it was a new species of carnivore. But in order to be absolutely certain the WWF is trying to catch a live specimen
of the mammal using traps.KTemoc has proposed that it be named ITITAP which stands for “I Tawt I Taw A Puttytat’.

ReplyDeleteWith a name like that it may already be in a difficult political position. I hope the WWF doesn't start a trapping stampede that causes their extinction.
