DAP dares PAS to state stand on Negeri Sembilan crisis
DAP vice-chairman Syahredzan Johan says Malaysians want to know the extent of PAS's involvement in the Negeri Sembilan crisis.

Syahredzan questioned whether the party’s central leadership endorsed the menteri besar and the former executive council’s attempt to remove Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
In a statement, he pointed out that one of the exco members whose appointments the ruler revoked was from PAS.
“What is PAS’s stand on the decision made by the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan? Don’t be evasive or only drop hints. State PAS’s stand clearly about what has happened to their assemblyman.
“More importantly, Malaysians want to know the extent of PAS’s involvement in the Negeri Sembilan crisis,” he said, adding that DAP and Pakatan Harapan’s stand on the crisis was clear.
The Bangi MP was responding to PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, who earlier questioned whether DAP would accept having exco members in other states being removed from their posts by the ruler without the state government’s approval.
Fadhli said the constitutions of other states also outline that exco members hold their posts “at the pleasure” of the ruler.
Syahredzan asked Fadhli whether PAS plans to take legal action to challenge Tuanku Muhriz’s decision to sack the Negeri Sembilan exco members since the PAS leader appeared to oppose the ruler’s decision.
The Negeri Sembilan royal crisis was sparked in April by a proclamation by four “undangs”, some of whose positions are under dispute, purporting to remove Tuanku Muhriz as ruler.
Last month, the Negeri Sembilan exco issued a statement claiming that the ruler’s removal was legitimate, with menteri besar Ismail Lasim endorsing the statement a day later.
This is despite Ismail stating support for Tuanku Muhriz to remain as Yang Dipertuan Besar in August.
The Attorney-General’s Chambers and the state’s royal court, known as Dewan Keadilan dan Undang, later said the exco’s statement had no legal effect and that Tuanku Muhriz remained the rightful ruler.
The 10 Negeri Sembilan exco members were sacked by Tuanku Muhriz as a result, with the palace saying their appointments were “at the pleasure of the ruler” according to the state constitution.
