Those with eyes, skin like ours must unite, Razman says at flag rally

Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria appeared to have made racially charged remarks at a rally of over 300 people waving the Malaysian flag at the Menara Condong Teluk Intan today.
The gathering was a counter demonstration against the waving of the China flag at the same location during the Guan Gong cultural festival on Thursday.
While criticising the current administration for apparently not defending the nation’s sovereignty, Razman made a call for unity, using physical features as a reference point.
“We ask those whose eyes are like this (while pointing to his eyes), skin like this (while pointing to his skin), and blood like ours, we must unite, this is the struggle we champion,” he said.
Remarking on the eyes of Chinese and others of East Asian descent is a common slur against such people.
Razman added that a message must be sent to “friends” who supported those who waved the China flags.
Those who waved the China flags during Thursday’s incident were China nationals.
Previously, the Perak PAS chief had been accused of painting the Chinese Malaysian community as unpatriotic over the incident.
In his speech today, Razman said the government had failed to safeguard Malaysia’s sovereignty.
“Thank you for showing up, showing your solidarity, and showing all Malaysians that this is our country.
“No one is taking care of our country's sovereignty, so we have to take care of it,” he told those gathered.
Besides Razman’s speech and the flag waving, the New Straits Times reported that participants also sang the national anthem as well as Jalur Gemilang and Saya Anak Malaysia.

I thought being a Muslim is non-racial but only for religion. So Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria is now admitting that PAS is a Malay political party and NOT an Islamic party - shame on them (PAS members) for misappropriating the name of Islam.

One other thing that come to mind is, the man and his compatriots are frightened of the world and its current state.
May the peace of the Sovereign and Eternal God be with him.
PAS is a 3R party.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, the Chinese community in Teluk Intan scored an own goal with the CCP flag flying caper..
It makes no difference In perception even If the CCP flag flyers were all China nationals.
