How long will you ride on prophet's name, ex-PAS leader fumes

Former PAS vice-president Nakhaie Ahmad questioned the rationale of certain quarters in invoking Prophet Muhammad’s name unnecessarily in their arguments.
While he did not name anyone, it is believed Nakhaie (above) was referring to an opposition MP invoking the prophet’s name when mocking Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s decision to forgo his salary.
“‘I take a salary because the prophet did’. ‘I practise polygamy to follow the prophet’s teachings’.
“Enough of this. How long will you ride on the prophet’s name?
“God’s provisions provided to the prophet… one-fifth of it (khumus) was dedicated to the destitute, orphans and others.
“You take a salary for your own needs, to live a luxurious life, but the prophet went hungry to defend the poor and orphans.
“Also, are you trying to equate your polygamous practice with that of the prophet? You practise polygamy to help women or to satisfy your lust?” Nakhaie asked on Facebook.
Two days ago, opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin raised doubt on Anwar’s announcement that he would not accept his salaries as the country’s top executive and finance minister, saying the man still has to eat.
In his debate speech at the Dewan Rakyat, Hamzah said the prime minister should come clean about whether he still receives income from other sources, like allowances from government-linked companies.
Echoing Hamzah’s sentiments, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said even God allowed Prophet Muhammad to draw a salary when he was leading a country.
“Even the prophet was allowed some provisions by Allah. But this (Anwar) looks to be even better than the prophet, maybe he is a malaikat (angel) who does not need a salary,” the Kubang Kerian MP was reported as saying.
