PAS not invited to join coalition govt: Loke

Transport Minister Anthony Loke has denied that PAS would be invited to join the coalition government.

This follows media reports citing Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil neither confirming nor denying rumours that the Islamist party would join the Pakatan Harapan-led ruling coalition.

“No. There have been no discussions about PAS joining the unity government. I think the media may have misunderstood what Fahmi said.

“Fahmi said there were many discussions. Those discussions were between the federal and state governments.

“I have also met with PAS leaders. Did I invite them to join the Unity Government? No. The discussions were not political but G2G, meaning government-to-government, between the federal and state governments,” he said yesterday.

Rumours of PAS joining the unity government surfaced last October but were denied by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

  1. Actually it is not a bad idea to have these towelheads as part of the govt.
From previous experience, they do a 180 degree turn in their rhetoric and tend to be less extremist. As the saying goes, ' keep your friends close but keep you enemies even closer' is not hollow counsel.
