The outspokenness of Muar Member of Parliament, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, on the issue of corruption among leaders presents him as "pure" and "clean" in the eyes of some. However, at the same time, he exhibits great enthusiasm when discussing the trials of others, according to Deputy Chief of PKR's Information Bureau, Datuk R Ramanan.

Hence, Ramanan urges Syed Saddiq, who is also the President of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA), to clean his own name first.

"Frankly, I find it peculiar for him to speak about the court cases of others, especially when they are still in the trial stage and not yet concluded. However, Syed Saddiq's actions are highly disappointing. I'm not sure if this is a tactic to divert attention from his own case, but withdrawing support for the Unity Government merely because he is dissatisfied with the court's decision to grant a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) to Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, on 47 charges seems rather illogical.

"Let's not pretend to be righteous to the extent of staging stunts and acting overly pure. Your case is not resolved yet, the court hasn't decided anything, and yet, you are already speaking and acting as a judge for someone else's case? Are you trying to provoke unrest among the people against the current government? Enough, Syed Saddiq," he said to MalaysiaGazette today.

Ramanan further emphasized that MUDA's withdrawal of support has had little effect. The government and the Prime Minister remain unchanged. Therefore, it's crucial to refrain from being overly obsessed and indulging in rhetoric that will ultimately backfire.

Last Sunday, Syed Saddiq withdrew his support for the Federal Government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and instead chose to become the third-party opposition in the Dewan Rakyat.

This decision came as a form of protest against the court's decision to grant a DNAA to Ahmad Zahid on corruption charges after the prosecution requested for all charges to be dropped.
