DAP blamed for inaudible azan at Kajang prison, Syahredzan fumes

STATE POLLS | DAP lawmaker Syahredzan Johan has cried foul over DAP being blamed for the inaudible call for prayer (azan) from the Kajang Prison Department mosque.

He pointed out that the prison does not fall under his constituency but under the Hulu Langat parliamentary seat represented by Amanah's Sany Hamzan.

"The Kajang prison is not even under the Bangi parliament. Still, DAP is being blamed," he said on Twitter.

Earlier, a Twitter user claimed residents around TTDI Kajang could no longer hear the azan from the particular mosque.

Seeking Syahredzan’s intervention, the Twitter user also claimed rumours were suggesting that the issue was caused by interference from DAP.

However, there were also claims circulating on Twitter that the issue was caused by a faulty transformer.

"The people of TTDI Kajang said they can't hear the azan from the mosque. Words are going around saying it's because of DAP. Yes, they can't hear the azan because the transformer is broken. @syahredzan might be able to help," the user tweeted.

DAP’s adversaries from Malay-Muslim parties, including its former foe turned ally Umno, have always accused the predominantly-Chinese party of being a threat to Malays and Islam.

In addition to repeated denials, DAP leaders also accuse their political rivals of using this false narrative to sow fear and hatred among the Malay-Muslim electorate.

In a recent ceramah, Perikatan Nasional chairperson Muhyiddin Yassin also blamed DAP for pulling the strings behind the government’s decision to drop an appeal in the case involving Jill Ireland over the use of the word “Allah”.

  1. DAP/Amanah should go visit the mosque and have the mosque management clarify the real situation.

That way, no muslim would have cause to doubt DAP/Amanah
