Is PH going to betray BN, Wee asks after Pua’s remarks on Umno

MCA president Wee Ka Siong also questioned why DAP would seek support to form a government if Tony Pua had reservations about alleged corruption in BN.

PETALING JAYA: MCA president Wee Ka Siong has expressed concerns over former Damansara MP Tony Pua’s remarks on Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) last night, questioning whether this meant Pakatan Harapan will betray BN.

Wee questioned what Pua was implying as DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook’s policy adviser when he recommended that PH win the 16th general election and govern the country independently.

“Doesn’t it imply that BN will be betrayed by PH? Is DAP planning to stab us in the back?” he asked in a Facebook post.

Wee further questioned why DAP would even seek BN’s support to form a government if Pua had reservations about the alleged corruption in its midst.

“Several DAP leaders themselves have been appointed as ministers under this unity government,” the BN deputy chairman said.

At a DAP fundraising dinner last night, Pua stirred controversy when he said PH supporters must prove that “a multiracial party that is clean and not corrupt” could do better “than corrupt coalitions (sic) like BN, Umno and Bersatu”.

Pua also expressed hope that PH would be able to form the government on its own at the next general election.

Several Umno leaders have since slammed Pua’s remarks, with Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh stating that it had created dissatisfaction among Umno’s grassroots.

Akmal said Pua needed to realise that his actions were tearing apart the harmony and understanding being fostered within the unity government.

Meanwhile, Umno Supreme Council member Isham Jalil reminded Pua that DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng was also charged in court for alleged corruption.

  2. We notice that the mouths of politicos on the Madani government side are all very itchy and many cannot resist shooting at each other.

I say, "well done! The rakyat is very impressed at this infighting".

Now, let's count the days to another green wave because of the stupidity shown through this infighting and the weakness of Anwar who is unable to rein in the big egos and bigger mouths..
