PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a couple over an explosion which killed a 28-year-old waiter in Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur, last week.

Acting Selangor police chief Sasikala Devi said a man and his wife were arrested at a house in Kedah last night and have been remanded for seven days.

In a statement, she said Selangor police’s criminal investigation department arrested the couple, who are in their 30s, after a tipoff.

“We believe that these arrests can help us in our investigation.”

In last Thursday’s incident, the victim was believed to have found and handled a package that was left on top of the bonnet of his car.

The package was believed to have exploded.
