Umno finally acts on hardline dissidents
Tajuddin's membership has been suspended for six years.
KUALA LUMPUR — Oct. 1, 2022: Datuk Zaharin Mohd. Yasin, a former secretary of the Bandar Tun Razak division has been sacked from the party while two others have had their membership suspended.
Party secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan did not give any details for the decision on Zaharin but it is believed that it’s due to his frequent verbal attacks on party president Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi.
Suspended as a party member for six years is the former nominee for ambassador to Indonesia Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.
He was sacked by the party in 1995 for a money politics case but was then re-admitted. Last July he was dropped as a supreme council member.
The other suspension involve Alor Setar division head Datuk Yusof Ismail.
