Russian forces appear to be closing in on Ukraine’s second-biggest power plant in a bid to seize critical infrastructure, Britain has said.
In a daily intelligence update, the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defence said Ukrainian forces were continuing to repel an assault on the Vuhlehirsk power plant, 50km (31 miles) northeast of Donetsk.
The ministry added on Twitter that Russian artillery remained focused on the cities of Kramatorsk and Siversk.
In the first few months of the Ruzian invasion of Ukraine, Ruzia attempted armoured maneuver warfare against Ukraine.

It was a disaster, with Ruzia losing more tanks destroyed or rendered inoperable than many countries have in their entire inventory.
Ruzia then switched to its WW2 tried and tested scorched earth method of advancing slowly behind gigantic artillery barrages. It was effective to crush the Wehrmacht in 1943-1945. Absolutely titanic artillery barrages , until the earth shakes continuously.
Ruzia has 5 times more artillery in its inventory than the entire US Army.
Ukraine was fighting a losing retreat under the hail of artillery shells.
It is futile to fight Ruzia on its terms.
The situation has changed again in the last week. Western supplied HIMARS and MLRS, no more than a handlful , but with sharp accuracy, have destroyed gigantic Ruzian ammunition dumps.

The Ruzian WW2 war-fighting method of massive artillery barrages requires massive supplies of artillery shells. With the right methods , that massive supply can be throttled to a trickle.
