Russia says Bucha clip ‘ordered’ by US to blame Moscow

MOSCOW: Russia’s foreign ministry said that footage of dead civilians in the Ukrainian town of Bucha had been “ordered” by the US as part of a plot to blame Russia.

“Who are the masters of provocation? Of course the US and Nato,” ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said in an interview on state television late yesterday.

Zakharova said the immediate western outcry over the images of dead civilians indicated the story had been part of a plan to sully Russia’s reputation.

“In this case, it seems to me that the fact that these statements (about Russia) were made in the first minutes after these materials appeared leaves no doubt as to who ‘ordered’ this story.”

Ukrainian authorities said yesterday they were investigating possible war crimes by Russia after finding hundreds of bodies, some bound and shot at close range, strewn around towns outside the capital Kyiv after Russian troops withdrew from the area.

Russian authorities have said the photographs and footage broadcast from Bucha are a “provocation” designed to disrupt peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv.

The Russian defence ministry said the images were “another staged performance by the Kyiv regime”.

Footage and photographs of dead civilians strewn across the town have prompted western countries to call for those responsible for war crimes in Ukraine to be punished.

Russia, in turn, requested that the United Nations Security Council convene on Monday to discuss what it called a “provocation by Ukrainian radicals” in Bucha.

Russia sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine on Feb 24 in what it called a special operation to degrade its southern neighbour’s military capabilities and root out people it called dangerous nationalists.

Ukrainian forces have mounted stiff resistance and the west has imposed sweeping sanctions on Russia in an effort to force it to withdraw its forces.

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyriv, together with his notorious Chechen mercenary killers were in the Hostomel region, by their own statements and videos.

    1. Does that mean the Chechen army was in Bucha?

  2. You do know the excuse for the invasion was to eliminate Neo~ Nazis from Ukraine’s populace. The Russians moved towards using thermobaric munitions to slash and burn the populace. This is way beyond surgical strikes. Poland has now open the idea of hosting US Nukes as a deterrent against Russian aggression. How is that working out for Putin..?

  3. Info from DarkWeb about the Bucha massacre:

So far 410 bodies have been identified, many in body bags, some buried directly while others found scattering all-over Bucha town.

Out of the total, 208 had execution marks, with hands tied & been shot through mouths or back of the heads. They all had white band on their arms, indicating they were Russian supporters.

Less than 100 were civilian bodies found amongst heavily fighting zones.

Bucha is the earliest town to fall into Russian force in the 24/2/2022 operation.

The Russians left Bucha on 31/3/2022 & the Ukrainian force returned by the 1/4/2022.

The mass grave of about 100 bodies was located by the mayor of Bucha, who was not replaced by the Russians during the occupation.

  4. Ya...ya... just like Ariel Sharon originally claimed the allegations of massacres of Palestinians in Sabra and Shatila were fabricated to blame Israel.

  5. The American Patrick Lancaster is on the ground in the eastern area of Ukraine, and many of his reports are on YouTube, giving commentaries and interviews and talking directly with the Ukrainians in their homes and in places where they had seek temporary shelter. Most noteworthy are the videos in his face-to-face talk with the Ukrainian citizens about how they bear up with the hardship and the recount of the horror of how they became human shields for the Ukrainian Army.
