Can Bersatu, Pejuang come together as a front to oppose UMNO/BN? Does DAP still want a "big tent" kerbau?

Can Bersatu, Pejuang come together as a front to oppose UMNO/BN?

PEJUANG chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad often talks about principles as the basis of unity but one has to wonder what principles is he talking about.

Taking on UMNO/Barisan Nasional (BN) is one thing but on what grounds will the Opposition take them on apart from using the same old song and dance about the 1MDB corruption and the heavy involvement of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak?

I understand that following the Johor state election, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has met Mahathir to discuss the possibility of an electoral pact against UMNO/BN in the coming 15th general election (GE15).

But apart from this meeting, it is not certain whether both the parties – despite their political differences – would be able to sink them in the larger interest of preventing UMNO/BN from capturing political power to form the next federal government.

The pact between Bersatu and Pejuang might not be sufficient to bolster the image and credibility of the Opposition.

At this stage, it is still not certain the possibility of cooperation would be extended to other parties such as those in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.

PH after being mauled in the recent by-elections might not be in a strong position to take on UMNO/BN in the next election.

However, an electoral pact seems to be out of question.

Muhyiddin’s betrayal of the PH government through the Sheraton Move in March 2020 remains the stumbling block in any future electoral cooperation.

Mahathir is not an innocent person altogether as his prevarications leading to the weakening of the PH government played into the hands of those responsible for the infamous Sheraton Move.

MUDA, for one, could bridge the gap between Bersatu and Pejuang on one hand and PH on the other hand and if DAP and Amanah can consider the idea of cooperating with MUDA, PKR might warm up to the idea as well.

The Johor election is a reminder that things did not go well with MUDA and PKR – in fact, there was no electoral pact between them.

As it is, the divisions between the Opposition remains a stumbling block to garnering support to take on the BN coalition.

UMNO-led BN seems to be a force to be reckoned with given its admirable performance in the recent by-elections.

The problem with Muhyiddin and Mahathir is that they hardly have any credibility to lead the Opposition and furthermore I doubt the PH would agree to this.

Both their betrayals are something that cannot be easily forgotten.

Bersatu might be in better position to garner Malay votes, especially from those who are dissatisfied with UMNO.

The only reason why Pejuang is keen for an electoral pact is to ensure that Najib does not become the next prime minister.

In other words, Pejuang in general and Mahathir in particular will be singularly focused on the misdeeds of Najib and nothing else.

That being said, PH might want to distance themselves from being too obsessed with Najib – this did not work in Melaka and Johor so why should it work in GE15?

Unless and until the Opposition reconceptualises their political agenda, it would be difficult to take on the UMNO/BN juggernaut.

Unfortunately, Bersatu and Pejuang have nothing substantive to offer to the Opposition as a whole to delegitimise BN. – April 2, 2022

The biggest con-job in Malaysian political history had been the (brief) political coalition of PRIBUMI Bersatu with remnants of Pakatan Rakyat (DAP, PKR, Amanah anak lelaki kepada PAS, wakakaka). Mahathir willingly resigned from UMNO to embark on that treacherous journey, with his sole aim as brilliantly described by Prof Ramasamy above.

Ta-bolih percaya Cina - Mereka masih mengguna chopsticks

But Mahathir also benefited from the coalition in becoming PM as he dominated PH, giving each and every one of his MPs ministerial positions (including deputies), and that was how we were endowed with the amazing bull-poo of a politically-useless person like Rina Harun.

DAP and PKR in Perak had to surrender subserviently the MB position to the sole PRIBUMI ADUN when Dr Aziz Bari (DAP) should have politically headed the state, and what a disaster the treacherous Azumu turned out to be - he seized land worked over by Chinese farmers for 40+ years to gift to his state soccer players.

Farmers told to clear out after Perak govt gifts land to football team

Thursday, 25 Jul 20195:34 AM MYT

IPOH: Seven farmers handed over a memorandum to the Perak Menteri Besar in protest after being served notice to vacate state-owned land they been cultivating because the state wants to hand it over over as a gift to the Perak football team.

From FMT via
Malaysians Must Know the TRUTH:

... a group of seven farmers from Chemor said the government was taking back the land they had been cultivating for four to five decades. Their cultivated land will be presented to the Perak football team.

The farmers urged the football team to come to their rescue after they received eviction notices to vacate the land from the state authorities.

In an open letter, the farmers — who own 2-5 acres (0.8ha to 2ha) each — said their families had been tilling the land in Ulu Chemor, Hulu Kinta, and it was their only source of income.
They said they were shocked when they received the notice from the Kinta Land Office on July 5, ordering them to move out within 14 days or risk a RM500,000 fine or a jail term of up to five years.

On May 3, Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu had announced that the 39 Perak footballers and officials will be granted land for winning the Malaysia Cup final last year against Terengganu. - FMT

All due the touch of King "MINUS".

In brief, DAP and PKR were humongously conned kau-kau like in one of those scams from Macau, swallowing their bitter pride when their beloved Atuk even insulted them by holding the Malay Dignity Congress during his reign (describing Chinese and Indians as orang pendatang syiok duduk di Malaya sehingga ta'mahu pulang ke Tiongsan masing2), ignored ICERD, supported LYNAS, nurtured SOSMA, wanted to sack Yeo Bee Yin, called the Jews hooked noise, (subsequently) asserted that Muslims had a right "to kill millions of French people" shortly after a knife-wielding man launched a deadly attack in Nice, and various other uncivilised racist antics including of course the most treacherous backstabbing of Anwar Ibrahim (who he hated since 1997).

He even managed to recruit a willing KHAT into becoming Menteri Hal Ehwal Najib (MENHEN), wakakaka.

I placed the entire blame for Mahathir running "wild" in his Second Coming on the Lims who, like mutes stung by hornets, tolerated the old man's evil actions, despite the party holding 42 MPs to Mahathir's 13. That unnatural subservience was probably because they were so keen to hang on to majority rule - to wit, power craziness - thinking only Mahathir enabled them to enjoy power.

The Lims may not want to admit their gross stupidity but the voters know of the wickedness of Atuk, and showed that by ensuring Pejuang lost kaukau in Johor, gifting the treasury with RM210,000, thank you, wakakaka.

Why blame Moox2 for the Sheraton Move when t'was their beloved Atuk who backstabbed them by abruptly resigning from his PM post without even the basic courtesy of prior notice to his so-called allies, the DAP with its guli-carrying leaders, PKR and Amanah?

Moox2 merely exploited that Atuk-gifted gap of a vacant PM-ship.

Still wanna ally with Pejuang? You must be eff-ing mad, moronic or Mafulat-ish! Maka-Laut.
