Stop rewriting history on your ties with Pakatan, Zahid tells Muhyiddin

UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi lashed out at Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia supremo Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for attempting to rewrite history on the latter’s ties with Pakatan Harapan.

“Muhyiddin claimed that he took Bersatu out from Pakatan alleging that the DAP was not supportive of Malay and Muslims’ special privileges and other interests.

“I find the statement hard to believe because the reality is, Bersatu was with DAP since March 2017 and not merely 22 months while Pakatan was administering the country,” he said, in a Facebook post.

On March 2, Malaysiakini reported Muhyiddin as attempting to portray himself as the man who stopped Barisan Nasional’s (BN) corrupt leaders from returning to power, which eventually led to his ouster mid-last year.

“How is it being said that I was the one who threw a spanner in the works in the effort to hold Najib Abdul Razak to account for what they have done?

“I fought them, that’s why I was ousted. I fought them and refused to compromise with their corruption and abuse of power,” the Pagoh MP was reported as saying in Pagoh.

You brought BN back, Muhyiddin

However, his former boss Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad poured cold water on Muhyiddin’s argument, who went on to blame the latter for BN’s return to power.

“The current situation would not have happened if Muhyiddin had not brought down the Pakatan Government.

“We, including Johor voters, managed to stop Najib from robbing the people when he, UMNO, and BN were rejected in the last general election,” the Langkawi MP had stated.

On that note, Zahid said that Bersatu left the Pakatan coalition after suffering defeats at the by-elections, particularly after the party’s candidates in Semenyih and Tanjung Piai lost.

“I urge Johor voters to be wary of Bersatu’s spin-doctoring, which had begun since the last general election,” the former deputy prime minister concluded. – March 6, 2022.

  1. The "I am a Malay first" idiot is at it again - trying to curry favour with people of his race and portraying DAP as anti-Malay.
