Man up and debate me, Wee tells DAP sec-gen
JOHOR BARU: Lim Guan Eng should show his “political guts” and take on the challenge for a debate, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The MCA president said the DAP secretary-general had yet to respond to his invitation to the debate made on March 1.
“The debate stage has been set for this Sunday (March 6) at the Johor Tiong-Hua Association Hall with a rental of RM4,500.
“I will wait for Lim there so he should stop looking for excuses to run away and chicken out.
“I am a man and won’t run, so he should show his political guts and manliness (kejantanan) and come for the debate.
“The debate will not be long, I only need 20 minutes, I am serious.
“He wants to embarrass me? I will expose him,” he told reporters after witnessing the handover ceremony for the completed SJKC Cheah Fah from Sunway City Iskandar Puteri to the state Education Department.
Lim was challenged to debate his claim that Dr Wee had not contributed as much as him towards the construction of SJKC Kuek Ho Yao.
Lim allegedly made the claim at a ceramah during the second night of the Johor election campaign.
On Thursday (March 3), Kulai MP and former education minister Teo Nie Ching, on her Facebook page, told Dr Wee to wait for her this Sunday.
To that, Dr Wee said Teo can come but he wants Lim to be there because there should be a debate between the “MCA number 1 against DAP’s number 1”.
“In 2018, when I was the then deputy MCA president, I challenged Lim to a debate but back then he said I was not eligible based on party hierarchy. Well, now I am the party number one,” said Dr Wee, who is also Transport Minister.
“The debate will not be long, I only need 20 minutes, I am serious.

ReplyDeleteThat "hero" can only pretentiously, softly, call for UMNO to leave BN after the 14th GE debacle but when Zahid tell MCA to "fly kite" he had no ball to call for BN "EXCO" for an order to consider to "sack" UMNO (whether motion will be successful or not is another matter) knowing that can only be his wet dream. But what he could really have done which he again had no ball to carry out is to bring MCA leave BN. No wonder the Chinese call him "Wee gung-gung"
