Unilateral conversion: PAS can’t think beyond race and religion, Ramasamy says

PAS is blindly supporting Perlis mufti Datuk Seri Asri Zainal Abidin as they cannot think beyond religion and politics, Penang Deputy Chief Minister Prof Ramasamy Palanisamy said.

“Loh Siew Hing’s case is not an issue of religion or race, it is rather about the law and human rights,” he told FocusM.

Earlier today, PAS youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari had lashed out at Ramasamy for harping on the issue and urged him not to use “sensitive words”.

“Don’t incite racial or religious issues here. Nobody was forced, kidnapped or whatsoever in this case. I urge the Penang deputy chief minister to not use such words,” he was reported as saying.

Lashing out at the PAS leader, Ramasamy said he was unsure on what basis Ahmad Fadhli was accusing him of playing up racial and religious issues as he had only argued on the legality of the conversion.

Ramasamy further remarked that it was his responsibility as a public to ask relevant questions on the case.

“PAS, having existed for a long time, know what is right and wrong. They cannot simply be saying the children should be left alone – nobody wants to interfere with the children.

“But if the children have been forcefully converted without the knowledge and consent of their parents, surely as a citizen, I have to ask these relevant questions.” – Feb 20, 2022.

  1. "PAS, having existed for a long time, know what is right and wrong. They cannot simply be saying the children should be left alone – nobody wants to interfere with the children."

On this I have to disagree -- PAS is too consumed with race and religion to care or bother about what others say or think and more importantly, they ALWAYS think they are right because they think they are representing allah on earth.
