Al Fatihah Allahyarhum Mokhtar Hashim

Malaysiakini:

Ex-minister Mokhtar Hashim passes away

Former minister of culture, youth and sports Mokhtar Hashim passed away at the age of 78 earlier today.

This was confirmed by his nephew, Ahmad Hafiz Abdul Raffar through a Facebook post, reports Bernama.

According to Ahmad Hafiz, his uncle died at 3.10 am.

It is understood that Mokhtar passed away at the Ampang Hospital.

Once touted as a future prime minister, Mokhtar's career ground to a halt in 1983 when he was found guilty of the murder of then Gemencheh assemblyperson and Negeri Sembilan speaker Mohamad Taha Talib.

The late Mokhtar was later granted a royal pardon and was freed on July 10, 1991.

I can tell you many 'Uncle' stories about Mokhtar Hashim, alumnus MCKK, an UMNO stalwart once touted as a future PM, though with the advantage of hindsight, I reckon he too might have been kowtim-ed by a very wicked evil old man who brooked no challenges to his standing nor successors who didn't obey his "behind-the-curtain" orders and directives. Yes, Mokhtar Hashim might, and probably would have been KuLi-rised, Musa-rised, Anwar-ised, Badawi-rised and Najib-ised as well.

I can also tell you, again 'Uncle' stories about Mokhtar Hashim's family, to wit, his sister and (yes, especially his TUDM) brother, and why he shot and killed Mohd Taha Talib.

And most uniquely, the late Mokhtar Hashim was the first ever Malaysian to receive a DOUBLE royal pardon.

But I won't disturb his passing away. May he now rest in peace.

Al Fatihah Allahyarhum Mokhtar Hashim.

  1. Bottom line is, Mokhtar Hashim KowTim-ed himself by being convicted, beyond reasonable doubt, of murder.

How to blame that on some "wicked evil old man" ?

    1. Monster, if you read carefully, which we know you seldom do, you should be able to distinguish what I have written re the murder sentence and the 'what-if' future-PM kowtim-isation.

    2. The biggest single factor that took him out of the running, KowTim-ed as "future-PM" was his murder conviction.

  2. Xavier Justo also granted Royal Pardon by Thai King but KT criticize Toonsie for being fren fren with such “unsavory company”.

Thai King pardon less powerful than our Agong’s is it? Mokhtar Hashim’s conviction was for MURDER, not blackmail like for Justo.

BANGKOK (Dec 13): Convicted former Petrosaudi International employee Andre Xavier Justo could be home in time to celebrate Christmas with his loved ones in Switzerland, according to Bernama news reports.

The Swiss national is among thousands of Thai and foreign prisoners granted royal pardon by Thailand’s new king, King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradevarangkun.

Justo was found guilty by a Thai court in August 2015 for attempting to blackmail his former employee.

    3. KT, in your blog that I linked above you wrote:

      KT’s QUOTE
Sirul and now Justo! Hmmm, most unsavoury company. I wonder why the new PM (ie Toonsie) even wants to stand next to this ex convict?

  3. “Uncle stories” about why he shot and killed Mohd Taha Talib?

Did the victim insult the Prophet or something terrible like that to justify his murder?

    2. Strange, KT is against death penalty (life is so precious) but defends a convicted murderer.

Also strange KT is against a convicted but pardoned blackmailer (Justo) but defends a convicted but pardoned murderer (Mokhtar). Is it because Toonsie is fren fren with Justo?

This is like Capt Thaya-Pandai’s circular logic.

  5. A murderer is a murderer and there is no two ways about it. Taha was murdered using mokhtar hashim's revolver. That was the fact being presented in the court at the time.
He was a cold blooded murderer.
