Backdoor Senator macan kacang lupa kulit

Malaysiakini:

Chin Tong: Those wanting DAP to only focus on 'Chinese base' are 'half-witted'

Malaysiakini

DAP senator Liew Chin Tong has again made the case that the party must expand beyond its Chinese base and does not have kind words for those who insist on focusing on one single demography.

"I told our members that whenever a newspaper column or anyone, inside or outside the party, tells us that DAP should just take care of its so-called 'Chinese base', these people are either half-witted or they have a malignant intention," he said in a statement on Facebook.

Liew said he conveyed this during a briefing session for DAP members hosted by Bakri MP Yeo Bee Yin and Bentayan assemblyperson Ng Yak Howe.

Liew said they spoke to their most important grassroots leaders there about the current political perplexity.

He also cautioned against efforts to have DAP only focus on its Chinese base.

"We must be very aware of the intention of such campaigns and not play into the hands of our enemy.

"There are no seats that are ‘Chinese seats’ per se. All seats that we contest in are multi-ethnic seats.

"All parliamentary seats contested by DAP in Johor are very multi-ethnic in composition," he said.

Liew went on to list the parliamentary seats DAP contested in Johor and its composition as follows:

Bakri: Chinese 53.1 percent; Malay 44.23 percent; Indian 2.15 percent
Labis: Chinese 44.94 percent; Malay 37.98 percent; Indian 14.68 percent
Kluang: Chinese 47.49 percent; Malay 41.63 percent; Indian 9.38 percent
Kulai: Chinese 54.04 percent; Malay 34.96 percent; Indian 10.24 percent
Iskandar Puteri: Chinese 49.79 percent; Malay 36.65 percent; Indian 12.46 percent
Ayer Hitam: Chinese 37.97 percent; Malay 57.68 percent; Indian 4.01 percent

"No seat has more than 55 percent Chinese voters whereas all of these seats have 35 percent and above Malay voters, with some having a very significant number of Indian voters," said Liew.

Liew stressed that DAP's goal has always been to serve all Malaysians regardless of ethnic and religious background.

"The DAP must do everything it can to guard against those who try to stir up racial division," he said.

There's nothing wrong in a newspaper column or anyone, inside or outside the party, telling the DAP that it should just take care of its so-called 'Chinese base'. Please tell me what's wrong with such an advice?

That advice did NOT say the DAP should not expand beyond its Chinese base, only that the DAP should just take care of its so-called 'Chinese base'.

We all know that lately, this backdoor senator has been defending Atuk even though everyone, yes all are aware of how much the Old Man dislikes DAP. He has voiced his disgusted feelings in PPBM as revealed by Wan Saiful's article, where Atuk intentionally forged the Malay Unity Alliance to remove DAP from rule of Malaysia.

Why have Liew, Hannah Yeoh, Nga Kok Ming, the Lims been so subservient to Atuk when he has shown his dislike, disgust and disdain for them? I have to borrow my matey Bruno's fave phrase for such a weird contradiction, namely: "Go figure".

We must remember Liew is just a 'backdoor' senator, a derogatory label he once loved to paste liberally on MCA and Gerakan 'backdoor' senators - Thus he is not only a masochist in lapping up Atuk's verbal flagellation of him and his DAP colleagues but also a hypocrite, now that he himself has accepted being a 'backdoor' senator, a group he once sneered at for their 'masuk pintu belakang'-ness.

But his arrogant pompous biadab-ish description of those who advised the DAP should take care of its so-called 'Chinese base' as 'half-witted' disgusts me to no ends, showing how this once-admired DAP 'intellectual' is not just a hypocritical member of 'backdoor senators' and also most disturbingly, a kacang lupa kulit, an ungrateful DAP member who bites the hands of voters who elected him.

His pompous remarks and criticisms of those who advised him on 'Charity begins at home' reflects on an indirect insult to the voters who supported him and his DAP colleagues, for his unspoken allusion to taking DAP Chinese supporters for granted.

  1. Please make sure you understand the implications of "just" Take Care, which is a limiting adverb.
    It means "only".
It will be a political disaster for DAP if it "just" Takes Care of its Chinese Base.

  2. pardon my primary six england, but the word 'just' can also mean 'only', sounds like a poor advice done in bad faith to ask dap to ONLY take care of their chinese base, I would be upset too mr liew wakakaka but kt likes to put down or disapprove of anyone who remotely mention kutty

  3. From dictionary....."only" (adverb) means....

"and no one or nothing more besides; solely

So Liew's advise makes sense; DAP is a multi-racial party so it would be foolish to focus ONLY on the Chinese.

BTW, KT's hero Karpal Singh is what race?

    1. Ktemoc does not understand the meaning of "just"

My sales team once went to a difficult Customer trying to sell a new product.
The Customer told them to just take care to support the existing Product line.

The Customer certainly did NOT mean my organisation should expand beyond existing products, only that the we should just take care of the existing product we sold them.

What is it that Ktemoc "just" doesn't understand ?
