Tax-free cars for Malaysia

From Sun Daily:

PETALING JAYA: Car prices will not go up because of the Sales and Services Tax (SST) system because they are exempted.

Wow, for a nation that's said to be in debt for RM1 Trillion, we sure can afford tax-free cars and wagyu beef, yes, even racing cars.

The beef has been already swallowed up by 8 VVIPs in the Dewan Rakyat (atau Dewan VVIP), but I wonder why cars are tax exempt from the SST?

Are motorcycles too? Boats? Aeroplanes? Lawnmowers, fridges, washing machines, fans, TVs???

Is there a smell somewhere?

  1. The fact is most electrical and electronic goods were also 0% SST before the GST was introduced.

Cars are a pleasant surprise, but there is still a substantial excise tax on CBU cars and CKD kits. Must pay some tax lar...

Lim Guan Eng already said.. you can looks for more ways to Tax the Rakyat or look for ways to increase efficiency, reduce costs... Pakatan choose not to burden the Rakyat more...

What is so wrong with that ?

Of course , if you only pay Australian tax, you can Hentam Lim Guan Eng as much as you want to.

  3. Sistem GST tak adil:

The Finance Ministry will reveal how much money was not returned to manufacturers under the Good and Services Tax (GST) regime, says its minister Lim Guan Eng. “In due time, I will be exposing why GST refunds were not returned to manufacturers and the total amount involved,” he said during Question Time at the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (July 19). Lim said that the failure to refund GST claims to manufacturers had resulted in an increase in the cost of goods.
“The problem was that they (manufacturers) did not get their GST returns which resulted in the cost of goods constantly rising,” he said when responding to Datuk Ahmad Maslan (BN-Pontian), who had claimed that some manufacturers had cheated when making GST refund claims.

  4. SST -Tax exempt for cars. That's good news to Rakyat who couldn't afford to buy higher capacity new cars and can only afford to buy 2nd hand cars or lower capacity cars with loans up to 9 years.

That's good news not bad news, idiots.

    Wakakaakakakakaka
