Mahathir's fingers "close outwards"

would you like some milk?

camel's or goat's please and not cow's

One incontrovertible fact about Zakir Naik is that he is NOT a Malaysian citizen but one of India.

Is it Malaysia's duty to defend an Indian national against extradition to his home country?

What extraordinary or divine qualities does Zakir Naik possess that force or persuade PM Mahathir to protect and retain a FOREIGN national from being extradited by that man's own country?

I contrast Zakir Naik's molly-coddling treatment by Mahathir to the latter's call in early 2013 to change the Constitution so as to strip Ambiga Sreenevasan of her citizenship.

Yessiree, in 2013 Mahathir wanted to have Ambiga's citizenship stripped for being involved with BERSIH, a Malaysian NGO, and which Mahathir himself subsequently was involved with.

Shouldn't he strip himself of his own citizenship
 for being involved with BERSIH?

And to reiterate, now he is protecting a FOREIGN national from that man's own country.

Guppies, your lovable double standards hypocritical PM.

Penangites have a saying about such a person like Mahathir, to wit, "Ch'ew knia aow ch'ut", meaning (Mahathir's) "fingers close outwards", implying his loyalty is towards a foreigner rather than to his own Malaysians.

    1. Ehh...when Ktemoc was defending and protecting Pokjib til blue in the face, you senyap je ? No complain kan ? When Ktemoc was deathly silent bila Hadi Bawang sedang bermain-main peluk with Pokjib, you are nowhere near this site ? Happy je. Now you emerged and labeled him as Chicken Little Ktemoc ?? wakakakkaka. Sekarang baru sakit hati ? hehe

Can't you see, you fool, he's just using this bigoted Zakir Naik to score points against Dr M la Ktemoc had in his previous post praised the civil activist lawyer Syahredzan for being a great guy for pointing out 1. the majority of Malays did not vote for PH. 2. those who voted for PH did not do so because they want a Malaysia to be more progressive. 3. in Umno and Pas, we have two far-right opposition parties now pushing the conservative agenda.

Do you know what that euphemism 'pushing the conservative agenda' means ? Playing the race and religion card la...this is up your street, right ?

Chicken Little recognizes the fact that in this country of Malay majority with huge long standing Ketuanan issue, any Malay leader would have to do a lot of pandering, more so now, taking the above 3 points raised by that lawyer.

Chicken Little is just cucuk-ing the hive la...and when the angry wasps came out flying, this little anak ayam will go off giggling in one corner to plan his next baling batu. That's how he earns his dedak. Got it ?

    7. LoveMYKris - looes74 is a terrible UNSCRUPULOUS bastard (but not my son, wakakaka) who would unscrupulously fabricate salacious stories, conversations, gossips, between a man and a woman (including me and some known journalists like Susan Loone, Mariam Mokhtar, etc etc etc). Basically he is unethical, immoral, bizarre but I find him an entertaining goon, wakakaka. But when he is at other blogs (eg, Din Merican's) he behaves quietly and even sucks people's dicks there like a well-behaved budak kecil, mewing like a kitten - shows his double standards, wakakaka again

  4. Former Finance Minister II Johari Abdul Ghani says the new Harapan government should not let our IPPs to fall into foreign hands. Hang on, didn’t 1MDB sell Edra power assets to China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) for RM9.83bil cash? During his watch?

    QUOTE:
Former second finance minister Johari Abdul Ghani supports the government’s move to cancel the new independent power plant (IPP) contracts approved by the previous government. He hoped any new bidding would be carried out through open bidding. He said the new government must review the track record and experience of the companies before awarding the contracts to them. The former Titiwangsa MP said companies handling IPPs should not have any political connections and must have experience in the field. He said it was crucial to award the contracts to companies with a good track record to avoid IPPs from falling into foreign hands, but “a good local company with experience will be able to run the IPP on its own”.

  5. 'Is it Malaysia's duty to defend an Indian national against extradition to his home country?'

The Vishva Hindu Parishad, an Indian right-wing Hindu nationalist organization, placed a bounty of US$75,000.00 bounty for ZN's head. So, I would support TDM to allow ZN to stay here provided he behaves.

  7. India needs to make a good case for extradition. Malaysia will then comply with the treaty. If Malaysia simply extradites based on a treaty but without a specific and complete evidence that justifies it what if he is tortured or executed by mad Hindu nationalists when sent back? Human Rights activists will be in uproar.

    The Star QUOTE:
Gobind said he, Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran and Water, Land and Natural Resources Minister Xavier Jayakumar had raised the issue of the controversial Muslim preacher in a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday (July 11). “As far as I am concerned, if India or another country is able to make out the case that warrants a person to be sent back, the government should act accordingly,” he said.

    1. I agree.
Given the gravity of the issue, including Pakatan Harapan being accused of pandering to a Muslim extremist, I have been combing through the actual detail.

If India really wants to bring Zakir Naik to justice, it seems to have done a Piss Poor job.

Have they issued an Interpol Red Notice ?
Is there an Indian Police arrest Warrant out for Zakir Naik ?

Has a formal Extradition request been made through the Malaysian Attorney General's Office ? I am very sure Tommy Thomas will consider it based on the law and evidence.

It will not simply be a Mahathir edict, though he may well overrule Tommy Thomas if it comes to that.

My advice to the Indian Government on the extradition is , assuming it is not just going through the motions, do it 100% by the book.

  8. Technically speaking Zakir Naik is no longer an Indian citizen after his passport was revoked. The Times of India calls him a "stateless person". Read below. If we extradite him now and he gets persecuted in India by Hindu nationalists the Human Rights people will be in uproar. Malaysia's problem stems from the fact that PR was granted to him by the BN government in the first place. Stupid flers.

    We cannot say:
"One incontrovertible fact about Zakir Naik is that he is NOT a Malaysian citizen but one of India. Is it Malaysia's duty to defend an Indian national against extradition to his home country?"

The Malay Mail reports on 19 July 2017:
KUALA LUMPUR, July 19 — Controversial Muslim preacher Dr Zakir Naik's passport has been cancelled by India and rendering him stateless, according to a press report. The Times of India reported that the Mumbai regional passport office revoked Dr Zakir's passport based on recommendations from India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA), which previously registered a criminal court case against him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for alleged links to terrorism activities.

    1. revoking Zakir Naik's passport does not make him stateless, it only denies him travel abroad - he becomes stateless in malaysia because he deliberately stays here illegally without a national passport (malaysia can grant him one). he is still an indian citizen

    4. If the traveller's passport is been revoked while he is oversea, that traveller is as good as stateless in the eye of the foreign host.

The India govt is apparently playing dirty here, to keep zakir out of India where he has many radicalised supporters.

W/O the passport, zakir can't travel to any places else except staying put within M'sia where he is a pr.

Meanwhile the official extradition from India isn't forthcoming & zakir won't return to India voluntarily.

It's a stalemate that m'sia can do without, as getting involved with a foreign country's internal affair.

But, that bloody pr is another complication of this religo-political soup.

So mamak is right to let the rules of the book flows. U don't create trouble while staying here. Meanwhile, while waiting for the official extradition order, mamak plays brotherly ummat Islam to gain credit with the blur-sotongs.

When the extradition order arrives, ttfm, adios & good ridden! While the zombies at home can only doing monkey jumps!

      Brilliant!

  10. You just never know what TDM would barter trade this Zakir Naik for, a self promoted Imam Mahadi

"Hello India. Hello Modi. We got something you want n we need you to convince your Judges to drop charges n close one eye. Can or not"

You all really think Ceasar will allow this politically inspired Mamak Imam to overshadow him? To recollect, even Malaysians who were well known political Islamic entities once, like Ibrahim Libya, Al Arqam, ABIM, Jamaat Tabligh, JIM all met with sad fate.

It's just a matter of horse trading for TDM. "The Ends always justifies HIS means".

      The foolish Malaysian.

In most liberal democracies, police do Not have complete discretion to search your personal property.
They need either a court order or reasonable cause to suspect you are involved in criminal activity.
Police can even be sued for unreasonable searches or harassment.

The exception is at the border entries and exits. Customs has full power to search your bags or personal property at the border.
