CEP 100 days existence may be capati-kan

MM Online - PM’s choice whether CEP lives beyond 100 days, minister says (extracts):

KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 — Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has the prerogative to decide whether to extend the advisory Council of Eminent Persons (CEP), Foreign Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah has said.

When it was formed, it was announced that the quasi-official body will exist for the new administration’s first 100 days in an advisory capacity to the Cabinet.

With less than 20 days left, questions are being asked if the council should extend its service to the government past then.

“That is up to the prime minister ....
[...]

The CEP is headed by former finance minister Tun Daim Zainuddin and includes Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz, Tan Sri Hassan Marican, economist Jomo Kwame Sundaram, and “Sugar King” Robert Kuok.

Their qualifications are not in doubt, but the secretive nature with which the CEP operates has invited criticism about its true powers and purview.

Among their critics is Umno’s Khairy Jamaluddin, who used Daim’s visit to China — ostensibly to renegotiate questionable contracts and loans — to question why such efforts were not led by Saifuddin instead.

The former Umno Youth chief also cited the CEP’s reported summoning of former Chief Justice Tun Md Raus Sharif and Court of Appeal President Tan Sri Zulkefli Ahmad
Makinudin to brief the council as evidence that its powers are greater than stated.

Wakakaka and welcome, Gullible Guppies, to the old-new world of Mahathir-ism.

No doubt he'll blame it on the billions and billions and billions of ringgit lost during Najib's PM-tenure (but NEVER his from 1981 to 2003).

* note: in Australia John Howard and his PM-successors blamed Labor Party on similar grounds for a couple of decades - useful blame to avoid fulfilling "non-core" promises (Malaysian equivalent terminology of "non-core promises" would be "The PH Manifesto is not like the Bible", meaning it can be broken, wakakaka).

By contrast, Mahathir today has far more power than he has ever enjoyed, even during his 4th Reich. He now has a bunch of goofy gullible guppies to support him and his policies, BLINDLY.

But he's your adored lovable PM. Good luck, Guppies.

And you may possibly continue to enjoy the presence of Daim Zainuddin, the Chair of the CEP, and his economics prowess, wakakaka.

  1. Bijan had a Non-Constitutional unit called Pemandu , which had the power to set directions for Ministers to follow, and monitored the Minister's compliance via KPIs.

I don't recall Ktemoc ever raising a single concern about Pemandu's non-Constitutional powers.

But , of course, Ktemoc was comatose from 2008 to May 9 2018. (from Dedak overdose ?)

    1. are you equating Pemandu with Mahathir's CEP?

Yes, I bet you do, as a dedak makan-er

    2. They are not the same, but Pemandu also had powers which were not defined in the Constitution, and had authority to give direction to Ministers and monitor their compliance.
Why no concern ever raised ?

    3. don't over-bull on Pemandu - it's just a KPI monitoring unit for the PM

Worldbank even explains this as PEMANDU regularly monitors KPIs for these priority projects, some on a weekly basis. If KPIs slip, PEMANDU helps the implementing agencies troubleshoot, and if that doesn’t work, escalates further up the chain -- all the way to the Prime Minister if necessary. These routines create incentives to deliver and resolve any issues at the lowest possible level

    4. KT equates CEP consisting ONLY of Daim Zainuddin!

Has he EVER considered that Tan Sri Hassan Marican, economist Jomo Kwame Sundaram, and “Sugar King” Robert Kuok would stay longer than the stated shelf life of 100 days?

Moreover, Daim has repeatedly said wanted to 'go to sleep' after that 100 days.

Zeti Akhtar Aziz might stay! But I don't think her face skin is thick enough. Wakakakaka……

Perhaps, kt should postulate that mamak would introduce new bloods into the CEP to replaced those who choose to retire after 100 days lah.

Be consistent with yr mamak bashing hypothesis mah. Otherwise, kt is just another snake oil clairvoyant!

BTW, judging from all the 'dirts' unearthed so far from the various priority projects, the implementing agencies, and all the way to the exPrime Minister, one REALLY wonder what kinds of KPIs were PEMANDU monitored, create incentives to deliver and resolve any issues at the lowest possible level?

Jibby/hippo's oversea bank a/cs' balancesheet r the sole determinant. Right?

    5. since you advocate the CEP, why have a cabinet? The CEP to me is Mahathir's way of circumventing a/the cabinet which only came into existence way way too late for a truly real government - the hallmarks of a one-man dictatorship

    6. Sign of worsening rd tumor!

CEP is only good for 100 days when a cabinet was been negotiated via multiple horse-tradings!

Apa salah tu? Kalau tak suka policies proposed by CEP, tukar lah selepas 100 hari bila cabinet tertubuh.

Wakakakakaka…… the hallmarks of a one-man dictatorship that's good for hundred days ONLY. Should call it a hundred-day dictatorship lah.

But then WHAT good is a hundred-day dictatorship?

Oooop… giving the jibby/hippo fans club a hundred day orgy. Right ke?

  2. So, why the overbull on the CEP? It's just an Advisory Board to the PM and PH Govt. And they are all really Emminent Persons who knows their stuff unlike BN conies and half past six advisers which BN setup previously eg. GMM, Pemandu, MPPM etc.

The are doing a National Service with No pay some more. In fact after their work is done, they should be decorated and given some incentives as gratitude by the Rakyat and Nation for their self sacrifice.

I bet they themselves would not like to serve more than 100 days giving their valuable time to the service of King and country. Where to find Malaysians like that? So patriotic Malaysians.

Compare that to those serving in the Intelligence agancies, so many Govt. departments and Ahjib who are traitors to King and country. And they loot and pilfer the country's Tresuries dry
and still think they are Pejuang this and that and still have the faces and cheek to stand up and say they are loyal to King and country.

You just know they are all Sickos when you see their speeches
    and statements full of Baloneys.

And they are all just Leeches waiting to suck the Treasuries dry for themselves and their families.

    1. advisory board don't haul up the Chief Justice of a nation, nor meet Chinese leaders in China - the members especially Maddy's crony Daim are extensions of a one man dictator

  4. Should the time come when CEP starts issuing orders to the cabinet or PH counsel or Parlimentary MPs or statesmen or civil servants or judiciary board then KT can start giving his doomsday message. Otherwise this is a waste of time.
