Mahathir Open House - Agong Ta'ada

NST - Dr M moved by massive turnout at Aidilfitri open house:

Amazing. And he shook 55,000 hands. What a guy!

he he he

But by contrast, HM the Agong did NOT have Open House. HM donated the would-be expenses to Lim Guan Eng's Tabung Harapan.

good to give alms

  1. Kaytee, trying to be Batu Api again.

It really need a twisted mind to preach your brand of philosophy.

Look at it another way, The King giving the old man a chance to be in the limelight and cherish whatever number of Hari Raya celebrations left for him. The King also might be busy with the World Cup.

  2. Agong cancelled his open house because Mahathir said we were going bankrupt while Mahathir himself deemed it necessary to hold a mega open house? Err, something is wrong with that narrative there....

  4. I’m just looking forward to the revelation of the next Red File hidden in the MoF. By the time Parliament convenes in July the previous FM will be wishing he lost his seat. There will be no Keruak, Dahlan or Pandikar as defenders. Zahid is lost. KJ wants to distance himself, Nazri doesn’t know which end of the shotgun to point. Only Azalina is there and he is all alone.

  5. Although royalty don't have constitutional power as such, I actually don't mind them kacau-kacau sikit once in a while. So while we have three branches: executive, judiciary and legislative, we now have the royal families as a sprouting fourth bud (not yet branch) if you like. If Sabah had a Sultan the two-MB scenario would have been settled a long time ago. Musa Aman would not have dared to "criminally intimidate" a Sultan, as he allegedly did to the Yang Di-Pertua Negeri. Two tight slaps by a Sultan and Peaceful Moses would have to kwai kwai sit in the corner and sulk.

Just look at the two states that BN "controls" on paper. Perlis where the Raja chose the MB (not the BN "controlled" state assembly), in Pahang where the Sultan put the BN MB and entire Exco on a 2-year "probation" and now the Agong tunjuk muka sikit to TDM.

Our democracy is more complex but hey that is what we wanted right? Right? Right?

    1. Oh really? But you hell hounds were baying for the Sultan Selangor's blood during the MB crisis debacle. So do you only agree to the royalty's kacau-kacau sikit when it suits your team, but turn against him when they does the same to you? Such hypocrisy!

    3. And in the end the Sultan got his way right? No bloodshed. But life goes on and in GE14 Harapan responded by winning by an even bigger majority in Selangor. No hard feelings. Check and Balance. Like the Dacing, only Better.
