Anwar Ibrahim the old people's hero vs Mahathir the new people's hero

From my readings, Anwar Ibrahim seems to be THE comfort bolster (Penang-Hokkien: poe-chim or laam-chim, wakakaka) for the rulers, who are all worried about Mahathir.

Mahathir has a history of standing up against the rulers when that suited him or his agenda. It has to be admitted Mahathir has the knack and art of convincing the rakyat to listen to his side of the story, no matter how sinister that might be, and to support him even when he was arguing a case for his own interests.

He has de-fanged them before, especially the royal house of Johor, hence my nick for him as the Royal Dentist, wakakaka. Admittedly, when he did that, I was one of many hundreds of thousands, if not millions, who cheered because to us, he was our hero for teaching the naughty members of the Johor Royal House a salutary lesson.

It was many many years later that we learned he wanted to do that, not to protect or defend Mr Gomez the hockey coach or us the long suffering rakyat, but to force constitutional changes for his own political convenience.

That's the cunning of Mr Mamak.

Anyway, back to our blog topic of the new AG Tommy Thomas, alas, it seems the chauvinistic rumour mills must have worked to worry the rulers, that the alleged DAP-led Pakatan Harapan will eventually go republican, with Tommy Thomas, the defence counsellor for former Malayan Communist Party leader Chin Peng and Lim Guan Eng, looming ominously as the new pro-republican AG.

The newly resurrected The Malaysian Insight reported (extracts):

Anwar Ibrahim had visited the royal households to convince them that a non-Malay AG would not change or threaten Malay rights.

Anwar had met the King late last night in Kota Baru. The Malaysian Insight understands that Anwar returned to Kuala Lumpur at 1.40am today, shortly after which the palace had issued the statement.

Wan Ahmad Dahlan said Sultan Muhammad V was disappointed in and concerned about the recent inaccurate and negative media reports on the matter, which could threaten peace and harmony.

"His Majesty said he has an obligation to uphold the federal constitution and preserve the special rights of the Malays and Bumiputera."

It was fortunate Anwar Ibrahim has been able to convince HM the Agong that it's eight bells and all's well with Tommy Thomas.

If you read the above yellow-highlighted two paragraphs, they indicated what I have written above, to wit:

... the chauvinistic rumour mills must have worked to worry the rulers, that the alleged DAP-led Pakatan Harapan will eventually go republican, with Tommy Thomas, the defence counsellor for former Malayan Communist Party leader Chin Peng and Lim Guan Eng, looming ominously as the new pro-republican AG ...

Tommy Thomas

In Malaysia, the concerns, anxieties and interests of the rulers cannot be so easily dismissed. Besides there are always opportunistic parties waiting to exploit such seeming acts of lèse-majesté and even turn them into causes for violence.

Mind, that Anwar explained his recent meetings with a number of sultans have been to assure them the PH government continues to be pro-monarchy and will maintain the current national system of constitutional monarchy, might perhaps have masked another (their combined) covert objective, to ensure that Anwar truly becomes the PM (one more welcomed by rulers), and a.s.a.p if possible, so as to neutralise a Mahathir who's seen as being allegedly more unfriendly to rulers .

But Anwar needs to be careful about a new aspect he may not be aware of. He had once lived under the adulation and ferocious protection of his Praetorian Guards, the anwaristas. He may think he alone enjoys that.

But today, Mahathir also lives under the adulation and ferocious protection of his Praetorian Guards, the mahathiristas who strangely are generally more non-Malays and who are not in the least impressed by Anwar, and who has even dismissed his very recent persuasion of HM Agong on the suitability of Tommy Thomas as AG, as just an unwelcome act by a busy-body who wants to 'steal' Mahathir's credit for himself, wakakaka.

Act of blind moronic ultra-zealous Hell-Hounds lah, wakakaka again.

This has been an unprecedented insult to and desecration of his Reformasi credentials by PH supporters. It's something (Anwar) must be conscious of, and that getting onto the PM's seat may be far more difficult that he imagines.

  1. TT’s #1 job will be to recover as much stolen money as possible, mostly off shore in Spore, London, Switzerland, USA, BVI etc. That’s his expertise. Not just 1MDB but also timber money from East Malaysia etc. Recovered funds will be deposited into the Harapan Account. That was the other reason why they opened it. Maybank is very happy. Nazir is not.

    1. Let the nons push and push their luck. Let them see how far they can insult the judiciary, the Royalty, and the Institution. Let the nons continue to erode their special rights & position. Let's see how much mockery and derision they can take. The BN Government was confident and didn't detect the silent Malay underswell that burst to topple them. So let's see how much the Malays can stand of New Malaysia.

  3. Stoking fire in PH, when there is actually none. Kaytee?

How come all the theories and conspiracies seem to be coming out from BN cybertroopers and not from PH cybertroopers?

Are BN cybertroopers now pro Mahathirists or Reformists? One minute Pro Mahathirists and next minute pro Reformists.

Make up your mind BN Cybertroopers, will you?

Articles like yours Kaytee are found all over cyberspace including RPK, Annie, Helen Ang, Rocky etc etc.

Guess the cyberwar has not ended until the funds dried up and most are wondering who are still funding and keeping it going.

It won't be long before one by one is cornered and eliminated and sent to Sg Buloh under SOSMA Act for being a threat to National Security for past and present articles.

    Wakakakkakkakaka Wan Ong, Kaytee.

    1. (1) you've confirm what we fear along - that "It won't be long before one by one is cornered and eliminated and sent to Sg Buloh under SOSMA Act for being a threat to National Security for past and present articles", the modus operandi of one notorious dictator

      (2) aren't you talking about something you are familiar with when you said "Guess the cyberwar has not ended until the funds dried up and most are wondering who are still funding and keeping it going"

  4. I haven’t given up on Gopal Sri Ram yet. Maybe he will be Public Prosecutor going after the crooks. But this will need Parliament intervention first. What a tag-team this would be - TT & GSR.

    2. Too much friend-friend got past PM into a lot of trouble. A bit of antagonism can create good work performance. Challenge each other. If it doesn't work then change.

    3. Just try to read between the lines la. 'A bit of antagonism' is a euphemism in this context.

  5. The "PH supporters" who are adulating Mahathir but at the same time demonising Anwar are mainly Pribumi supporters.

Their party is actually is a weak position numerically, having lost most of the seats contested, but nevertheless trying to be Taikor, on the strength of Mahathir.
They can only get what they want by neutralising Anwar.

Anwar has 50 MPs and is himself a wily politician.
The original core of Pakatan is the PKR - DAP alliance, and that is still firmly in place.
There is no Pakatan Federal Administration today if not for Anwar Ibrahim's tireless efforts over 19 years. Not to forget the first tsunami of 2008.

Not so easy to displace him.
The main danger is if Anwar and his supporters get too impatient and engage in destructive conflicts , which open up opportunities for UMNO and PAS.

      That's the zombies' monopoly lah!

Right up to now, when the worms of 1MDB start to crawl out one by one, these zombies r still indulge in the cerita fitnah!

The matter of fact IS the all the alpha males of the zombie hive will be turning to stone when it's discovered that portion of the ill-gotten 1MDB fund actually been diverted to the elite zombies!

Hence, these elite zombies r hard at work to turn anything related to jibby's 1MDB scammings as fitnah.

  8. Here is more money for TT to get back for Malaysia.

The old AND young people’s hero is now LGE who just revealed another “red file” exposing Malaysian taxpayers to another 8-9 billion with China companies. 85% of the money has already been paid BUT only 13% of the work has been completed! Those Chinese sure know how to negotiate! Normally “investments” of this magnitude will have full press coverage, publicity and fanfare. But there was none, it was kept secret. And the local company managing these projects is linked to the now infamous SRC. Now will Najib cry fowl and say LGE is spooking the markets again? And where is Serigar? Hiding in the foxes den?

    1. "Red files" are privy to only a few top people, but most time, for the eyes of only 2 persons...Najib, the ex PM and Najib, the Finance Minister, wakakkakaka. No wonder that Klepto thief was sooo confident of his power..." We will rule for another 1000 years ", hihihihi

  9. Mahathir and Anwar doing another sandiwara show once more, playing the good cop bad cop act onto the Raja-Raja. The sooner the royalties realised they been played out, the sooner they can galvanised the rakyat against their evil schemes to rob the country once more.

  10. The Suria Strategic Energy Resources (SSER) deal is really fishy. First of all if the deal is above board why were the financial details kept in a "red file", not accessible to senior MoF people? And why was the contract negotiated directly by the PMO, without the involvement of Treasury? The AG's department also had many unanswered questions about the contract. Najib says he and Chinese Premier Le Keqiang witnessed the signing of the MOU between SSER and China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau (CPPB) on May 14, 2017. But the projects were approved by Najib's cabinet in 27 July 2016 and the contract awarded by SSER to CPPB in November 1, 2016. So the Memorandum of Understanding was signed AFTER the contract was already awarded (& perhaps money already start to be paid by SSER to CPPB. Need to check the Schedule of Payment)?

This LGE is a real CAT, good at catching rats, so I am willing to forgive his menial "sins", if any, of the past.
