Fair trial for Najib?

MM Online - Fair, independent investigation for Najib, says Anwar (extracts):

JAKARTA, May 20 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says investigations on Datuk Seri Najib Razak over the SRC International Sdn Bhd case will be conducted in a fair and independent manner.

He called on all parties not to pass judgement on the former prime minister before a thorough investigation and enforcement of the law were fully complied with.

“To him (Najib), (this is) my advice, find a good defence counsel,” he said after a meeting with former Indonesian president, Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie, in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of Indonesia’s reform here today.

Very ominous.

I doubt fairness can exist when there prevails a need for 'ch'oot k'ee' by quite a number of 'parties'.

'Ch'oot k'ee' is a Penang Hokkien word which means 'to vent one's fury', wakakaka.

Najib is in deep shit because of this toxic atmospheric emotion. I personally doubt there will be fairness in his trial as unwitting consequence of such emotions against him will predominate. For example, Anwar was reported bas saying:

Najib Razak abused the country’s legal system to imprison him a second time for sodomy.

Speaking to The Observer, the sister paper to UK’s The Guardian, Anwar also said he would not have been jailed if the 13th general election was free and fair as it would have been won by the now defunct Pakatan Rakyat.

The PKR de facto leader told the newspaper that he had, for a time, been frustrated by Malaysia’s institutions, before coming to terms with its frailties and abusers.

That's a heap lot of resentment. And then the Edge Market reported:

Mahathir ruled Malaysia with a notoriously iron first from 1981 to 2003, but now gives off the air of a world-weary academic who is allowing himself to be martyred for his cause.

This election is personal. I feel betrayed by him, I can’t help it. Najib cannot separate personal things from political workings,” he says, describing in a tone of great injury how Najib has banned anyone in government from being in contact with him, even those Mahathir has known for years.

Piles and piles of resentment.

He'll be most lucky to be given a couple of years' jail and send off into exile.

But I am waiting for the MACC's pronouncement tomorrow following Kadir Jasin's 'predictions'.

  2. The 1MDB scandal, while serious, is perhaps a lesser worry for Najib personally.

The reopening of the Altantuya murder case could be literally deadly for Najib.

But the country has a fair and independent justice system...... Najib said so himself, that the Executive does not interfere in the judicial system.

He said Anwar Ibrahim had received a fair trial, and Ktemoc the Najib supporter repeated many times.

You should shut the fuck up if you really believe Malaysia's justice system is fair and independent , right ? If not, what has changed your mind ?

  3. Indonesia's Reformasi started on May 20 , 1998, when Suharto quit.

Malaysia's Reformasi has taken hol 20 years late, mainly because Malaysia's socio-economic base is better.

When you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights

You just call out my name
And you know where ever I am
I'll come running to see you again
    Winter, spring, summer, or fall
All you have to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah
    You've got a friend

If the sky above you should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
Soon I will be knocking upon your door

Hey, isn't it good to know that you've got a friend?
    People can be so cold
They'll hurt you and desert you
Well, they'll take your soul if you let them
Oh yeah, but don't you let them

  5. "Najib is in deep shit because of this toxic atmospheric emotion." - Ktemoc.

Nah...Najib is in Deep Shit because
    a) He appears to have committed serious financial crimes against the country, partly to enrich his own pocket.

    b) He appears to have committed even more serious crimes in Obstructing investigations into those crimes.

  6. Najib already got his “fair” trial when his appointed AG Appandi exonerated him of all wrongdoing, giving the simplistic reasoning that Najib thought the 42 million SRC money was from the Arab donor therefore he could spend it on all kinds of luxuries. Of course this was not true but even then he made no effort to return it. And yesterday he had the gall to say with a straight face that he never stole any money!! In China or Viet Nam he would face a one-hour trial then go straight to the firing squad. In Malaysia he can hire a battalion of lawyers or QC. Good luck to him.

  7. In Mahathir's Reign of Terror, the guilty verdict has already been pronounced.

Which judge would incur the ire and fury of the top leadership and the zombiac rakyat IF the case was even paper thin to go on? Certainly a drawn out hearing would be detrimental to the honourable judge's life, so might as well get the judgement thru quickly. In the court on morning and at the guillotine by noon. Be damned with facts and fairness because they're hankering for their pound of flesh.

Its this kinda nonsense that Syariah proves to be more logical fair.

After that, Ambank founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi's murder

    https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/399666

It never made sense why ex-car repossessor Swee Kwan would want to kill him. Yet he has been sentenced to death and no one else arrested on the murder.

    Another Bloody suspicious case.

Najib must come to MACC tomorrow for questioning.

Pity Poor Ah Jib Gor.... his original interview by MACC in 2015 was more of a Teh Tarik session in his office, where MACC officers politely accepted his SRC denials at face value, and that was that.
