Mysterious death of Teoh Hock Beng - Chua Jui Meng's view

Malaysiakini - What compelled me to ditch BN?

Above was a speech by Chua Jui Meng explaining his decision to resign from the MCA to join PKR. Apart from the fact that he was marginalised by MCA President Ong TK in one of those periodic MCA power struggles, extracts of his speech may explain why Teoh Hock Beng had perished during a session of interrogation* with MACC.

* Much as MACC would like us to believe the unbelievable, that the late Teoh was released at 3:45 am (on the day after he was hauled in by the so-called anti-corruption agency) but continued inexplicably to loiter around the MACC building and even took a nap in the HQ’s pantry, I believe Teoh had remained under MACC custody right until the time he was killed in a fall from the 14th floor of MACC HQ - see my previous post Mysterious death of Teoh Beng Hock - Lil' Napoleons factor

I have underlined parts of Chua Jui Meng’s speech (extracts only) for your attention:

Today we see this nascent two-party system under threat, the unrelenting harassment by the Umno-led government to divide and destroy the two-party system, the hard-earned gains of last year's general election.

We see the abuse of power in the use of the federal institutions to harass, persecute and prosecute the leaders of the opposition, institutions that were supposed to protect the rights of the citizens of Malaysia.

The tragic death of 30-year-old Teo Beng Hock is the consequence of one such institution going overboard in its action. The seizure of power in Perak, the wooing of PAS by Umno to form a unity government based on race and religion, the farcical persecution and prosecution of Anwar Ibrahim once again for sodomy despite the reports of two hospitals - one from Hospital Kuala Lumpur - to the contrary, all these are indicative of a pattern of attempts to topple this precious two-party system.

It seeks to remove the people's new-found choice to choose between two political fronts. If this conspiracy succeeds Umno will continue to be the dominant political party going back to its old ways unfettered.

There’s some truth in what Chua said, but it’s more than just the two party system that UMNO fears.

UMNO knows the BN has been on a downhill slide since 08 March 2008 and as a party itself, it’ll more likely be kaput in 2013, relegated to a minority in the opposition, unless it does ‘something’.

For UMNO its current political objective has become one of pure survival.

Instead of reforming - and we know it can’t because it’s like a hungry monster that will feed voraciously on itself if unfed from its 50-year old gravy train, becoming a neglected red-eye toyol that eats its own master - it sees and propounds ‘Malay unity’ as its optimum strategy to remain in power in 2013.

UMNO has realised it can’t depend on the MCA to deliver the Chinese votes (and Gerakan was dead in the water), but of course not admitting it has been the actual cause of MCA’s political castration.

So it has decided its survival depends not only on Sabah, Najib’s ‘safe deposit box’, but the heartland.

And if anyone stands in its way to reclaiming/consolidating its hold on the heartland, like members of PAS and the Malay component of PKR, then these people have to be convinced to return to ‘the fold’, and where necessary, ‘seduced’ as required.

In this ethno-religious-centric strategy, UMNO has succeeded extremely well.

Take Bukit Gantang - despite the popularity and clean record of Mohamad Nizar, the federal by-election in Bukit Gantang saw a swing of the heartland back to UMNO. UMNO garnered 54% of the heartland’s votes.

And the increased swing of Chinese voters to PAS confirmed UMNO’s assessment of MCA’s impuissance.

The openly expressed proclivity of PAS’ Terengganu camp (ulama faction), even unto unprecedented open defiance of its spiritual leader, and the Manek Urai by-election outcome, would have convinced UMNO that its strategy to exploit the clarion call of ‘Malay unity’ has been right all along.

And ‘Malay unity’, like all nationalistic fervour, is best advertised by a wee thrashing of a ‘common enemy’ … which may perhaps explain why Rais Yatim had mulled openly (deliberately?) about resurrecting the long-dead case of Chinese rapper Namawee for prosecution.

Rais Yatim has also overruled the Health Minister in insisting on the term ‘swine fever’ instead of A(H1N1). Hey, ‘swine’ is miles ahead of A(H1N1) as a reminder of the unclean ‘enemy’.

But we need more please.

Well, in the old days, the CT (Communist terrorists) or more precisely the mainly Chinese communists, served that role. There was a CT behind every Malaysian bush when UMNO needed one.

Coincidentally today, Chin Peng in his 80+ years continues to be of some use to the cause of UMNO. No doubt UMNO would have whispered a quiet thanks to him. Karm-siah, Ah Pek!

But really, we need an enemy more substantial than one 80-year old man, a young university rapper or a virus.

The DAP and PKR Chinese ADUNs and MPs would do just fine.

And what did Chua Jui Meng said?

… the wooing of PAS by Umno to form a unity government based on race and religion …

… We see the abuse of power in the use of the federal institutions to harass, persecute and prosecute the leaders of the opposition
*

* Apart from the persecution of Anwar Ibrahim (well, because he is Anwar Ibrahim), police had deliberately disrupted a recent DAP dinner, while only Pakatan Chinese (only Chinese) members of Selangor DUN have been aggressively targeted for investigation of so-called financial impropriety by a suddenly awoken MACC.

Prior to this, the MACC had been in antipodal stupor, ignoring the disgustingly blatant frenzied spending of RM500,000 by each BN ADUN in a mere 2 months.

The MACC were also like the three wise monkeys in the matters of questionable spending by a BN leader on a Disney foray and his opulent Bali palace. Even Dr Mahathir was moved to comment adversely on the financial outlay for the Bali palace.

Now you see why the final extract of Chua Jui Meng’s speech stated: The tragic death of 30-year-old Teo Beng Hock is the consequence of one such institution going overboard in its action.

Demi bangsa, agama dan negara!

Kajang municipal councillor Tan Boon Wah, who was also questioned by the MACC in relation to the same case, said he saw Teoh in the MACC pantry at 6am on Thursday.

  2. from star,

wasnt Tan only released at around 1.30pm?

put this together, KT you are rite. Teoh was under custody of MACC till his death. And RPK's reconstruction of his death due to a botched interrogration fits in too. Gosh, a young innocent man's life snuffed out by political agenda undertaken by a suppossedly independent agency.

  3. Have the Police sealed off MACC offices and carried out a microscopic forensic examination for blood and other evidence?

In the absence of evidence of the involvement of any other party, MACC officers must remain the primary suspects in Teoh's death.

Any notion of 'sudden death' and 'suicide' must make the Police a laughing stock for obvious reasons!

  8. I went to a seminar yesterday and the speaker was talking about Malaysia's astrological chart .
We are going thru trying times with all sorts of political upheavels .
This is payback time as she said , its a correction of our past doing . However the country will still on track .
In my previous postings I have always mention that the next couple of years we would be seeing glitches like this as the country and planet earth experiences its own correction as we are in the end period of the 26000 year cycle . More things will be happening on a weekly basis until it finally stabilises .
Are we seeing end of times ? ...only time will tell ..

  9. Some 40% of the delegates voted for CJM in the last presidential elections. Why none following him to PKR?

  10. Hei chaptokam,

Malaysia's problems has nothing to do with the bullshit charts are saying. It has to do with the greatest political ba';';[ in Malaysian history-UMNO.

  12. I wished to state my stand on this issue as it was brought up by him , Chua Jui Meng in one of our recent conversation .
I wished to categorically say that my voting for the opposition in the last GE was not out of like or love for the opposition but rather a protest vote from the arrogance of certain BN parties and the Party President for refusing to field candidates who had won with big margins in the previous GE and choosing to field untested candidates from his backyard .
There were also several issues that I until today do not see eye to eye with you .
With your advancing age , I am wondering how you can possibly contribute to a party that has ideological differences especially that you are a very staunch Born Again Christian who preaches that all animals have no soul while condemning all those idol worshipers as devil worshipers and that those who do not accept your faith are condemned to hell . Would you say this to your PAS bethrens now that you are in Pakatan ?
So Dato Chua JM ..best of luck to you .

  13. CJM stuck himself into the mud. His path shall end here as he will find himself sinking fast as those loose wet mud turn out to be the quicksand drowning anything that set on it.

He is quick to jump the gun, but blind to see through the quicksand......

  14. Today , many of those people associated with the underworld , the triads , the gangsters have left the MCA for greener pastures as the MCA could no longer protect them having lost control of Selangor and Penang .
They have seek greener pastures in the current party controling Selangor and Penang and many have joined DAP and that is a sure fact . I have seen them as I know they were former MCA members who joined MCA when Ong Ka Ting was the President , that was the time when the Wah Kees and the Sio Sam Ongs was prevalent , now walking hand in hand with the DAP .
Even Lim Kit Siang chose to demonise Ong Tee Keat for the PKFZ woes , the one who did his best to reveal the PKFZ fiasco , however he is absolutely silent on Chan Kong Choy , the ex minister who is responsible for the three letters of guarantee that brought PKFZ to its knees , any idea why he has dared not venomously implicate CKC ? Check out with the people in Bentong and ask them who is the taikor of the Wah Kee Triad in Bentong and you'll get an answer .

Should also ask Lim Guan Eng who is now been his financial officer and now good buddy buddy in arms ?
A Tan Sri businessman formerly from Gerakan who has strong connections or is the number one Peh Triad in Penang . Ya so DAP has no underworld connections ? Better ask Wee Choo Keong .
Those who believe the DAP are angels , better wash your eyes with eyemo .

  16. Teoh Beng Hock frightened of Ronni Liu & Ean Yong Hian Wah

After Teoh Beng Hock finish giving statement to MACC at 3:45 am the question is why he did not go home? This is a big question. Teoh was not alone in the MACC office. Tan Boon Wah the Pakatan ahli majlis bandaran from Kajang was also being questioned. And there was one more person, a Chinese contractor, who was also questioned. So two more people were present other than Teoh Beng Hock.

Teoh was frightened to leave the MACC office. Because there may be people waiting for him outside or even inside the Masalam building. He feel safer staying inside the MACC office until morning again.

Tan Boon Wah say that he saw Teoh waking up from the sofa at 6:00 am in the morning. Tan said that Teoh did not talk to him. Tan is lying. During the questioning session which started at about 5pm and ended at 3:45 am, Teoh Beng Hock gave a lot of information to the MACC. This include information on Ronni Liu's connection with the kongsi gelap and Chinese underworld. Also the connection between kongsi gelap and Ean Yong Hian Wah.

Were Ronniu Liu and Ean Yong Hian Wah getting worried about Teoh Beng Hock's revelations to the MACC about their connections to the kongsi gelap?

The question raised by YB Wee Choo Keong is also important : why does Ronni Liu behaving like a kera kena belachan by jumping here and there over this case. Even before Teoh Beng Hock died, Ronni Liu was jumping up and down about Wee Choo Keong's statement about underworld kongsi gelap connections with Pakatan wakil rakyats.

This is why Ronni Liu is trying to act a drama like a big hero defending Teoh Beng Hock. Actually Ronni Liu is trying to distract the attention of the people from what YB Wee Choo Keong said about connection between kongsi gelap and Pakatan wakil rakyat. Ronni kicking the door, shouting and main kung fu is just acting only - to cover up.

There is a gap of about 7 1/2 hours from the time Tan Boon Wah last saw Teoh Beng Hock alive at 6:00 am and the time he was found dead at 1:30 pm. Did Teoh Beng Hock receive any phone calls or sms from Ronni Liu or Ean Yong Hian Wah scolding him or threatening him if he gave too much information to the MACC?

If Ronni Liu spoke to Teoh Beng Hock at anytime between 6 am and 1:30 pm of the day Teoh died, then can Ronni Liu please tell everyone and also tell the Police investigating this case. There must not be any cover up. If Teoh was killed by the Chinese kongsi gelap or if because he felt too much pressure from Ronni Liu, then the public must know about it.

  17. Hi DAP Triads,

    You sum up very nicely.

But I have something to add. Ronnie involvement with the underworld is very obvious, that why he is able to get PRK to go underground. See how quickly PRK spin on Teoh's death to protect his friend.......their actions actually give themselves away.

    Lagi cerita ..
If you have not visited Batu Ferringhi , the in place of pirated DVDs , try going there for a visit . Ask any DVD peddler along that tourist spot what party they are from ??
    Who's their taikor ?
FYI , their taikor who runs the biggest stall selling pirated DVDs and goes by the nickname of kong hu kia or cantonese boy is on the DAP committee for Batu Ferringhi and so are the koncos who are members of the DAP for protection against the raids by the domestic ministry .
Jacky Chan's right hand man is now the Big boss in charge of the hawker centre in Gurney Drive .
    Need I say more ?

  25. You know why Malaysian movies can't make it big outside Bolehland ? - Answer : The scriptwriters are like this Triad fellow(S).
His conspiracy theories have more holes than a fishing net !

1)"Because there may be people waiting for him outside or even inside the Masalam building.

KT has said "the doors of the Selangor MACC office operate on electronic access cards". Thus , the question arises, how did these 'people' enter the building ? Did they have inside help ? and if they did, then the inside helpers(all BN) know who these 'people' are and clearly there is a connection between the two.

If those 'people' were waiting for Teoh outside, then the question is, who let Teoh outside the building, since you need an access card to even exit the building.

2)Then the cerita lagi. You know about the pirated DVDs and how being in the DAP will get you 'protection against the raids by the domestic ministry'. Hey, hey, hey, so now you want us to believe that the ministry (a BN body, with a BN minister as head) can be influenced by the Bt. Ferringhi DAP committee !! Ha, ha, ha. Pure flights of fancy.

On another note, I notice there is a concerted effort to hijack the topic with
    - 'datukship will soon be revuked'
    - 'seminars, charts and end of times'

What is getting more and more certain is it is 'end of times' for BN!
