Kiwi offers dog food to Kenya's hungry

A Kiwi maker of doggie food has offered to feed starving Kenyan children with dog food.

Kenya has been been plagued by drought, crop failures and massive food shortages, with millions of people facing a food crisis. I wonder whether the proposer of the scheme, Christine Drummond, has been inspired by the Chinese Year of the Dog?

Kenyan officials have rejected her offer, condemning the suggestion as immoral. Kenya's Special Programs Minister, John Munyes, said:

"I am very much offended; it is in bad taste. It is unacceptable and we should not even be discussing such a demeaning thing."
