The US has withdrawn all of its bombers from RAF Fairford

Downing Street has insisted RAF Fairford is safe, after the US withdrew all of its bombers from the military base.

The Pentagon confirmed on Sunday it had removed its bombers - thought to be about a dozen B-1s - from the base back to their home stations in America.

US media reported a new threat led to the bombers being removed, which follows a major incident on 27 September when police were alerted to three "suspicious vehicles" near the airbase.

A No 10 spokesperson said he would not comment on "foreign nations' military operations", but said the base was safe, and pointed to US President Donald Trump's comments last week, where he "praised our police, defence and security services" in relation to the base.

He added that Defence Secretary Wes Streeting had said last week, "we have tried and tested approaches to defend our bases around the country and throughout the world".

Speaking on Monday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he would not directly tie last week's incident to the decision to pull bombers from RAF Fairford.

He added: "It's not unusual to see movement of assets to different parts of the world based on exercises, redeployments, people changing out and new people coming in, new planes coming in and old planes going out."

Rubio said the US still has full confidence in the security of all its bases and that British authorities have been very cooperative since the incident.

US Vice President JD Vance later said the bombers were moved out of an "abundance of caution", adding Washington feels Iran is doing what it has "done for 49 years... which is engage in acts of terrorism against the US and against a lot of other people".

RAF Fairford - in the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire - is at the centre of an incident being investigated by counter-terror police.

Five men were initially arrested on suspicion of terror offences and subsequently released on bail. A sixth man, a UK-Iranian national, was also later arrested and released on bail.

Whitehall sources have not disputed that the decision from Washington to remove the bombers was in response to the incident at the airbase in Gloucestershire.

The BBC has also been told it was a military rather than a political decision - taken at an operational level - and communicated from the US military to its British counterparts.

Earlier on Monday, the New York Times reported US commanders had received new threats about an Iran-backed plot against RAF Fairford according to two US officials.

The newspaper wrote that the new information was part of the same threat warnings from three weeks ago, but officials acted quickly after specific details emerged in the past 24 hours.

Ezra Cohen, who served as a defence official under Trump's first administration, called the US' decision "prudent".

He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "These are very, very unique platforms that aren't being produced anymore, and we have a limited number of them. The B-1 bomber is a strategic asset, and we're going to take steps to protect it from all sorts of threats."

It is technically possible for the US to conduct precision strikes directly from the US without a UK base - like in Operation Midnight Hammer last year.

But the removal of the bombers from RAF Fairford will see the US lose a foothold for the country outside continental Europe.

Liberal Democrat defence spokesperson James MacCleary called the US' decision to withdraw its bombers "deeply concerning" and called for the government to set out a plan to ensure the country's military bases are "fit for purpose".

Days after the incident at RAF Fairford, Prime Minister Andy Burnham said there were "strong indications" that Iran had played a part in the incident but did not provide further details, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Fox News that it "clearly involve[d] the hands of a foreign actor" without going into further details.

Tehran has strongly denied any involvement.

In July, Iran said "any base used for aggression against Iranian territory constitutes a legitimate target for our forces".

RAF Fairford, near the village of Whelford in the Cotswolds, has been used as a forward operating location by the USAF for decades.

In recent months, the US has flown B-1 and B-52 bombers from the base for the Middle East, after the UK approved a US request to use it for defensive strikes on Iran.

Residents living close to RAF Fairford told the BBC of their relief at the departure of bombers from the airbase, with one local saying she was "thrilled," citing the noise and feeling "increasingly vulnerable" in recent weeks.

Another villager, who said he has seen bombs being loaded aboard aircraft from his back garden, said he knew something was happening when he saw planes leaving "one, after another, after another" on Sunday.

🚨BREAKING: UNITED PILOT WHO DEFENDED OCT. 7 STILL FLYING

A United Airlines pilot who described the October 7 attack as “resistance by a brave people” and said it was “not unprovoked” is still flying passengers for the airline.

Ibrahim R. Mossallam was temporarily removed from flying duties after the post sparked outrage, but later returned to the cockpit. Since then, he has continued posting strongly anti-Israel statements.

Mossallam also serves as Vice President of the Board of CAIR-New York.

I asked United a simple question: Why is he still flying passengers?

As of now, United has not provided an official response.

Watch the full report below. @united

  3. Civilizational Jihad….one day Bolehland too, will be 99% Ishmael….

Egypt was once a Christian nation. Today it is roughly 90–95 percent Muslim.

Syria was once a Christian nation. Today it is 87 percent Muslim.

Turkey was once a Christian nation. Today it is about 99 percent Muslim.

Sudan sustained Christian kingdoms for centuries. Today it is about 97 percent Muslim.

Iraq, was once home to large Christian communities. Today it is about 97 percent Muslim.

These shifts did not happen overnight.

They followed conquest, sustained pressure, conversion, and the gradual erosion of Christian majorities over generations.

If you assume nothing comparable can occur in the United Kingdom, the historical record suggests you are mistaken.

  4. What an irony !
British residents feeling relief US Bombers have left ?
If they spent a little bit of time on WW 2 history instead of surfing only Leftie propaganda sites, they would know the the history of US Bases in the darkest days of WW2.
The bloody campaign by the 8th Airforce and .9th Airforce over Nazi Germany.
Many missions suffered 25% casualties. Many are buried in cemeteries in East Anglia.

Death of Russian biowarfare researcher from pneumonic plague.
This diseas has killed millions and millions of victims in Europe amd Eurasia.

Even today, we have antibiotics to fight it, but near 100% of doctors and hospital staff have never encountered any case during their entire career, so they may not recognise the disease until too late.

Russia has been developing deadly biowarfare pathogens in their laboratories for decades, but you won't read about it from Leftie Wankers like Zero Hedge and Consortium News.

They will just Wank on and on about CIA and Fort Detrick, but Russia amd China are considered holy clean.

    1. 1st check the FACT of this incident in Siberia before u fart, even thought yr mfering mind wouldn't read a word in it.

Pneumonic plague of the 1346 to 1353 strain was one of the most fatal pandemics in human history, leading to the death of up to 50 million people.

The deadly strain remains dormant within the corpses of the past victims.

Thus, a detail watch & study have to be maintained to prevent its occurrence.

Study the strain in extreme low temperature improves the researchers safety. But, there r still dance while reactivate the strain for more closer biological & medical investigation.

The laboratory in Irkutsk, Russia is dedicated to such study, even though mfer, like u would group it with that infamous Fort Detrick in the yankeeland!

Nobody has ever found Live plague bacteria from ancient victims.
What they have found is good plague DNA preserved - that is a goldmine for biowarfare researchers, like the Russian biowarfare labs.

  7. Quick protocol question for everyone (espesially KT) who called Israel barbaric for passing the death penalty for terrorists law:

The UAE may now execute the FlyDubai co-pilot accused of trying to crash a plane full of Israelis.

    Do you:

    A) protest the death penalty
    B) ignore it because the UAE isn’t Israel
    C) suddenly discover due process because the intended victims were Israelis

Please advise. Our double-standard flowchart is missing a branch.

    2. Death penalty Executions in 2025 – Facts and figures

Nambar 1 = China (by far)
      Nambar 2 = Iran
      Nambar 3 = Saudi Arabia
      Israel = 0

Every year, Amnesty International releases a report detailing the use of the death penalty from the previous year.

In this year’s report, there was a staggering rise in executions and death sentences, carried out by a handful of governments determined to rule by fear.

Here, we provide the details on the main findings from the report, at a global and regional level.

Amnesty International recorded at least 2,707 executions in 2025 in 17 countries, an increase of 78% from the 1,518 known executions in 2024. It is the highest figure recorded by Amnesty International since 1981 when it recorded 3,191 executions (excluding China).

China remained the world’s leading executioner, but the true extent of its use of the death penalty remains unknown as this data remains classified as a state secret. The global figure of executions recorded by Amnesty International excludes the thousands of executions believed to have been carried out in China, as well as those carried out in Viet Nam and North Korea where Amnesty International believes the death penalty was used extensively.

The countries with the highest number of executions were China (1000s), Iran (2,159+), Saudi Arabia (356+), Yemen (51+), USA (47) – in that order.

Women were known to have been executed in five countries: China (+), Egypt (1), Iran (61), Kuwait (1) and Saudi Arabia (5).
Executions were recorded in 17 countries, an increase by two on the record-low figures recorded for 2024 (15). This is in line with historical low trends recorded since 2018 that have seen executions confined to 20 or fewer countries.
