The Umno president also dares critics to table a no-confidence motion against the prime minister
Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Barisan Nasional joined forces with Pakatan Harapan in 2022 to ensure political stability.
KUALA LUMPUR: Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has challenged the party’s critics to kick Umno and Barisan Nasional out of the government, in another veiled jab at Pakatan Harapan.
Zahid also dared the critics to table a no-confidence motion against the prime minister in the Dewan Rakyat.
“Do you dare? If so, do it quickly. I dare you to dissolve Parliament as soon as possible,” he said in his winding-up speech at the party’s general assembly here this evening.
Zahid said Umno and Barisan Nasional had agreed to form the unity government with Pakatan Harapan, on the king’s advice, after the 2022 general election resulted in a hung Parliament.
He said BN had decided at the time to join forces with PH to ensure political stability.
“But agreeing to work together does not mean we yield,” he said.

Anwar and PH gave UMNO a lifeline of being More-Than-Equal Partner in the Federal Government at a moment when UMNO was really down and nearly out.
ReplyDeleteI have to credit UMNO with making very effective use of the opportunity to claw its way back in less than.4 years. Nothing wrong with making the best out of an opportunity handed to them
The poor judgement was Anwar Ibrahim's, not UMNO's.
