BEIJING, Dec 25 — China accused the US today of distorting its defence policy in an effort to thwart an improvement in China-India ties.

Foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian was responding to a question at a press briefing on whether China might exploit a recent easing of tensions with India over disputed border areas to keep ties between the United States and India from deepening.

China views its ties with India from a strategic and long-term perspective, Lin said, adding that the border issue was a matter between China and India and “we object to any country passing judgment about this issue”.

The Pentagon said in a report on Tuesday that China “probably seeks to capitalise on decreased tension... to stabilise bilateral relations and prevent the deepening of US-India ties”. — Reuters

  2. The Century of Humiliation (& corresponding Unequal Treaties) was a period in Eastern Bully's history beginning with the First Opium War (1839–1842), and ending in 1945 with ROC (note, not PRC) emerging out of WW2 as one of the Big Four and established as a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

THE major cause was dadah - OPIUM. Millions of Eastern Bullylanders were so hopelessly addicted and the country was collapsing. The dadah was grown and supplied by the East Yindia Company in Bengal.

Eastern Bully tried its best to stop this, but they were powerless. Their Navy was so backward, only a few tongkangs and sampans, they were no match for the of the steel-hulled gunboats of Britannia's Navy, then the most powerful in the world.

The Treaty of Nanking, signed August 29, 1842, ended the First Opium War, forcing Eastern Bully to cede Hong Kong to Britannia, open five ports (Canton, Amoy, Foochow, Ningbo, Shanghai) to foreign trade, pay a large indemnity, abolish the Cohong monopoly, and accept fixed customs duties, marking the start of the "unequal treaty" system, which eroded its sovereignty and began its "Century of Humiliation".

    SEE WHAT DRUGS CAN DO.

Fast Forward to today and we have the same situation, now involving Western Bully and the source of the new dadah, cocaine, is Venezuela and Colombia. Drugs are destroying millions of civilian lives in Western Bullyland. Addiction is rampant and societies are crumbling in the wake of this addiction.

The difference today is that Western Bully, unlike the Eastern Bully nearly 200 years ago, has the Gerald R Ford (CVN-78) and a hundred other powerful ships, a vastly superior air force and soldiers ready to march in and stop the flow of drugs at its source.

They will use all means necessary to stop drugs from destroying their country. They learnt the lesson from Eastern Bully.

    2. Mfer's his-story of twist.

Contrarily to ur meeting fart of - 'THE major cause was dadah - OPIUM' - it was actually SILVER!

The Qing administration ONLY accept silver as the only payment for ANY forms of foreign trades with her territories.

The West had run out of payable silver yo balance the trade payments.

Thus, the pommie, especially the shylocky Sassoon, came out with a program of opium to drug the Chinese peasants. Opium was long known in China as a narcotics & used mainly in TCM applications under very strict controls.

When the peasants were hooked onto the opium, other pommie trading houses - British East India company etc - came into plays too. Cheap cultivated opiums from India were imported & openly sold in major Eastern Chinese coastal cities by the pommies with the helps of the Manchu elites acting as partners.

Mfer, care to find out WHY opium wasn't a national problem in India, Burma & Afghanistan under the pommie rules?

Check too WHY drugs are destroying millions of civilian lives in Western countries now. Addiction is rampant and societies are crumbling in the wake of this addiction - due to pull & push factors combinatory plays.

PUSH by the moneyed capitalistic elites of their society in gaining more wealth by ANY means. & PULL by their societal high pressure, hedonistic & narcissistic natures.

  3. Don’t distort history. They were called First and Second OPIUM war, not Silver War.

    1. those might have been OPIUM wars but t'was all about silver. The Poms were crazy about tea and the Chinese would ONLY sell the tea for silver, nothing else. Soon the Poms were desperate as there was a limit to available silver (per se and economically) and sought another form of payment. Alas, they found out that opium was addictive and the Chinese once addicted were helpless to their exploitation for tea and even silver (back to them again). The wars occurred when Chinese authorities attempted to stop the import of opium. Imagine the (Chinese equivalents of the) US DEA fighting against the combined might of the RN (then the MOST powerful navy in the world), British Parliament and British traders (combined the equivalent of the Colombian Medellín drug cartel).

    2. Opium war as described by the western entities.

Likening, the real cause of American civil war is cheap slave labor. The spread of the Spanish Conquistado in American continent targeting Mayan gold.

Yet almost all the western published literatures r using flowery terms of American independence & uplifting of Christendom amongst the natives!

So, mfer, keeps to yr spurious & outwardly simpleton fart lah!

  5. Even Eastern Bully calls it OPIUM war.

The Chinese called the Opium Wars 鸦片战争 (Yāpiàn zhànzhēng), meaning "Opium War," a straightforward term reflecting the conflict's cause, and for later generations, these wars marked the start of China's "Century of Humiliation" (百年国耻, Bǎinián guóchǐ), beginning a period of unequal treaties and foreign domination.

    Key Chinese Names & Terms:
鸦片战争 (Yāpiàn zhànzhēng): The direct translation for "Opium War" (First & Second).
第一次鸦片战争 (Dìyīcì yāpiàn zhànzhēng): The First Opium War.

百年国耻 (Bǎinián guóchǐ): The "Century of Humiliation," a broader historical term for the era starting with these wars, as noted by Chinese historians.

    1. So, u want to play figurative words!

1st, both opium wars happened during the decaying state of the Qing dynasty. In the official Qing records, these wars were NEVER mentioned as 鸦片战争 (Yāpiàn zhànzhēng) of the 1st & 2nd series.

Those namesake tags were later day translation of the terms used by the western media, especially the pommie. Some later day KMT linked writers (historians????!!!) followed that translated usage for their ignorance &/or own treacherous reasons.

Opium wars were used to cleverly masked the underlying casuality of robbing the wealth of the Chinese. They directly implied that the Chinese went to war due to addictions caused by narcotics drug!

百年国耻 (Bǎinián guóchǐ): The "Century of Humiliation" DIDN'T started with these drug related wars. It started earlier when those good-for-nothing & rentseeking Manchu royal elites willingly signing away the sovereignty of the country via multiple shameful treaties to cover many of their asinine & imbecilic administrative policies.

Mfer, get yr 台毒 sources to rewrite their own fart properly. Getting a lesson from the notorious Jap on reinventing his-story, especially the period resulting in the formation of THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, is just so so simpleton to con know-nothing dickheads.
