Israeli Settlers Attacked Russian Diplomats – Moscow
A Russian diplomatic vehicle was attacked last week by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, resulting in mechanical damage, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Tuesday. She added that Russia considers the incident a violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
According to Zakharova, the incident occurred on July 30 near the illegal Israeli settlement of Giv'at Asaf, located just east of Ramallah and about 20 kilometers north of Jerusalem. She said the settlers also shouted threats at the diplomats. The spokeswoman slammed the Israeli military’s failure to intervene, denouncing their inaction “particularly puzzling.”
“The Israeli Defense Force soldiers didn’t even bother to try and stop the attackers’ aggressive actions,” she said.
The vehicle was carrying members of Russia’s diplomatic mission to the Palestinian Authority, who are also accredited with Israel’s Foreign Ministry, according to Moscow. — RT
Our Take: The odds of a Russian intervention ("Special Military Operation") in Israel just increased, dramatically.
And the IDF didn't intervene? Hard to not take that as a message, maybe regarding Russia's long-held pro-Palestine position — which is interesting, when you consider that the original colonists of Israel came from Russia, and today 20% of Israelis maintain Russian citizenship (according to Putin).
Netanyahu has entered FAFO territory.

Everybody talk about the Balfour Declaration, the letter dated 2.11.1917 to Lord Rothschild , Leader of the British Jewish Community sapoting an Isaac homeland. But nobody talk about French Diplomat Jules Cambon who also wrote a letter to Zionist Diplomat Nahum Sokolov dated JUNE 1917, ie even BEFORE Balfour’s declaration.
ReplyDeleteThe Ottoman Empire was to be broken up because they sided with the losing side Germany. That’s what happens when you lose a war - you lose territory. (Palestinians please take note). The Arabs in the Middle East were given 99.999.% of the land, from Morocco in the east to Iran in the west. Isaac was given only 0.01%, the size of Perak, with no oil or gas.
The Cambon letter was an unpublished letter by French diplomat Jules Cambon to Zionist diplomat Nahum Sokolow. It was issued by the French government in June 1917 during the First World War, announcing support for the Zionist project in Palestine, then an Ottoman region with a small minority Jewish population. It read:
The Cambon Letter (first page)
You were good enough to present the project to which you are devoting your efforts, which has for its object the development of Jewish colonization in Palestine. You consider that, circumstances permitting, and the independence of the Holy Places being safeguarded on the other hand, it would be a deed of justice and of reparation to assist, by the protection of the Allied Powers, in the renaissance of the Jewish nationality in that Land from which the people of Israel were exiled so many centuries ago.
The French Government, which entered this present war to defend a people wrongfully attacked, and which continues the struggle to assure the victory of right over might, can but feel sympathy for your cause, the triumph of which is bound up with that of the Allies.
I am happy to give you herewith such assurance.
It has been argued that the letter was a necessary precondition of the Balfour Declaration.

So Macron needs to learn French history. Before he recognizes Palestine as a state that France has LONG (more than a hundred years) recognized the right of Isaacs to Self Determination and a Homeland.
