ROME, March 31 — Italy has denied permission for US military aircraft to land at the Sigonella air base in Sicily before flying to the Middle East, a source close to the matter said today, confirming a newspaper report.
Daily Corriere della Sera reported “some US bombers” had been due to land at the base in eastern Sicily before heading to the Middle East, but did not say when they had been scheduled to arrive.
The source, who was not authorised to speak to media and declined to be identified, also did not specify how many aircraft were involved or when Rome declined to give permission.
Corriere della Sera added that permission was not granted as the US had not sought authorisation and Italy’s military leadership was not consulted, as required under treaties governing the use of US military installations in the country.
The Italian defence ministry had no immediate comment.
Centre-left opposition parties have urged the government to block the US use of bases in Italy to avoid involvement in the conflict.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s right-wing government has said it would seek parliamentary authorisation should any such requests be made. — Reuters

Delete🚨 BREAKING: President Trump just dropped a BRUTAL reality check on our "allies," telling them FIGHT FOR YOURSELF, America is done holding your hand
ReplyDelete"All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT."
"You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us. Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!"

ReplyDelete🚨 EPIC MOMENT! Japan's right-wing PM Sanae Takaichi meets with Italian PM Giorgia Meloni
Both are absolutely destroying the left's woke BS in their nations
And both are GREAT allies of America and President Trump 🇺🇸🇯🇵🇮🇹

both Meloni and Takaichi navigate unpredictable US foreign policy under Trump. Italy and Japan have traditionally depended on Washington for defence partnerships but are working to reduce reliance on US programmes, including through GCAP.

A blockade on Europe? Many are commentating on this. The following comment was shared as a matter of sample of the conversation...questions being raised are like what is the endgame...
ReplyDeleteIf energy cost cost keep rising or to a point of heading towards some kind of "flatline" situation, one aspect that I can see is TNB may find electrical protection relay from Germany's Siemens, Sweden's Hitachi brand znd France's Schneider might have delivery problem. That is nust one small aspect.
In any case Germany has announced investment in nuclear powerplant, termination of renewable energy infrastructure, repair gas pipe from RU and seek energy source from RU....Apparently AU PM is making big announcement tonight...

Pressure Mounts on Europe Diesel Supply as Tankers TURN AWAY
Tankers that were carrying diesel toward Europe have changed course at sea...
(Bloomberg) — Tankers that were carrying diesel toward Europe have changed course at sea... Four tankers — the Aliai, Minerva Vaso, Grand Ace6 and Elka Delphi — recently loaded diesel-type fuel in the US and started to cross the Atlantic, according to Vortexa and ship-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg News. The Aliai was signaling Gibraltar, while the other three were showing Amsterdam.
Since then, the ships have all made sharp turns: the Grand Ace6 is now signaling Lome in the West African nation of Togo, while the other three vessels are heading southeast. Combined, they’re carrying about 1.2 million barrels of diesel-type fuel, Vortexa data show.
“For April, overall we will see a sharp drop in imports into Europe,” said George Shaw, an oil analyst at Kpler, referring to diesel-type fuels."

Who is redirecting Europe's energy?
I reported last week that European ports were not allowing oil/fuel to be unloaded from tankers. Now the diesel scheduled to arrive is being redirected. Who is cutting Europe off to engineer an energy crisis?
