Just a day (July 1) after resuming operations, the new KLIA Aerotrain is already facing scrutiny after it allegedly malfunctioned mid-service, raising fresh concerns among travellers.
Faced technical issues
According to a post on Facebook by a netizen named Ahmad Ramadzan Soid, he shared a photo of two officials attending to the Aerotrain which had reportedly malfunctioned at KLIA 1.
Another post by Ashish Kale on Facebook showed a picture of travellers using the bus after the Aerotrain failed to operate.

Relaunch after over two years
The Aerotrain service, which connects KLIA’s Main Terminal to its Satellite Building, resumed operations on July 1 following a major RM456 million upgrade as part of the RM742 million total refurbishment for the airport.
The relaunch was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Transport Minister Anthony Loke, who praised the train’s improved efficiency and comfort.

‘Chill lah. There’s still the bus service available. Even major airports like those in Tokyo, London, Hong Kong, and Dubai don’t have airside people movers like the Aerotrain, but no one complains about it. Why can’t we just stay calm instead of making a fuss?’

One netizen, who claimed to be at the scene, said the malfunction was caused by a passenger who tried to hold the train door open until it got stuck.
‘I was there when it happened. There was this one passenger who held the train door open until it jammed! Did they think it was a lift door that you can mess with however you like? It caused trouble for everyone. Definitely the type who reserves parking spots with chairs!‘

Disruption caused by water accumulation
Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) later released a statement on the matter, saying that the one hour disruption was caused by water accumulation in the tunnel caused by heavy rainfall.
“One of the drainage pumps experienced a technical fault during the downpour at 11am, preventing the automatic removal of water.
“The tunnel’s drainage system includes pumps designed to manage water ingress during severe weather conditions.
“As a safety precaution, train operations were suspended until the water was manually cleared and the tracks were confirmed safe for use.
“Service resumed at 12.15pm after clearance was obtained from the technical and safety teams,” the statement read.

Undurlah Anthony.
ReplyDeleteTofu Dreg Aerotrain from the Land Of Tofu Dregs.
ReplyDeletewakakakaka… do u know who supplied that aerotrain?
DeleteManufactured in Wuhu, China to Alstom design by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC).
DeleteI have very low expectations of its future reliability
The backup bus service will be needed there permanently.
Mfer, do u know anything about IP manufacturing?
DeleteThe KLIA aerotrain system is originated from Alstom, a French multinational rolling stock manufacturer which operates worldwide in rail transport markets.
The parts come from various Alstom plant from Europe & installed by Prestech under Alstom supervision.
The jont venture plant, Puzhen Alstom Transportation Systems Limited (PATS) in Wuhu, China, with CRRC PATS is responsible for the Innovia Monorail system, which includes the first fully automated and driverless elevated monorail line in China, Wuhu Line 1. Currently, no such system has been used/exported outside China.
Mfer, when u r doing yr usual China bashing, how much research works have u done?
Or u r just fart as yr usual self!

ReplyDeleteIdiot CCP Wumao moron, the original Pestech contract already terminated by the Malaysia Government in 2023 due to inability to deliver.
I attended an MAHB briefing late last year on various developments in Malaysian airports. The main briefing was actually to Penang industry groups on the upcoming major Penang Airport expansion.
The video on the KLIA aerotrain clearly showed new rolling stock being build in the Wuhu factory of the China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CCRC).
Many of the other Penang industry management ( mostly Chinese Malaysians) who are obviously pro-China were SOOOO impressed with China "Advanced technology".. me , I keep a skeptical view until I see real dependable performance.
Real dependable performance?
DeleteConsistent launching of interspace rockets. Especially those to the darkside of the moon.
Biggest network of high speed train services zigzagging across the whole country.
Advanced pressurized water reactors such as the Hualong One are the mainstream technology in the near future, and the Hualong One is also planned to be exported.
etc etc etc
Ooop… of course u never read about them in ur mfering reading list of dependable.
wow… u tak tau that Pestech is returned as a partner after the termination of earlier contract!
DeleteThe KLIA Aerotrain contract was initially awarded to PESTECH International Bhd for RM742.95 million, but was later terminated due to non-performance. A new contract was then awarded to a consortium involving Alstom, the original equipment manufacturer, and IJM Construction and Pestech Technology.
The MAHB video utilizes factory production videos of Puzhen Alstom Transportation Systems Limited (PATS) in Wuhu, showing new rolling stock being build in the factory.
That video DOESN'T conclusively proven that the KLIA aerotrain system is been built by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CCRC).
The initial KLIA aerotrain system (tender in August 2020) is based on rolling stock manufactured by Bombardier Transportation, which was acquired by Alstom on 29 January 2021. A new design based on upgrading from the current Bombardier's Innovia APM 100 rolling stock to the Innovia APM 300 was proposed (March 14, 2022).
I'm wrong about Puzhen Alstom Transportation Systems Limited (PATS) in Wuhu, NOT exporting its products to oversea.
Since its establishment, the company has won orders for APM projects such as Shanghai Pujiang line, Hong Kong Airport Rapid Transit, Chengdu Tianfu Airport Rapid Transit, Shenzhen Airport Rapid Transit, Beijing Capital Interntional Airport rapid transit, Singapore Bukit PanJang line, Thailand Golden line, etc; The company has obtained orders for more than 10 straddle monorail projects such as Wuhu Rail Transit Line 1 and line 2 phase I, Thailand Yellow line, Thailand Pink line, Sao Paulo, Brazil. In March, 2018, the APM system of Shanghai line 8 phase III (Pujiang line) was put into operation. In May 2020, the Golden line APM project in Bangkok, Thailand was delivered for export, which is the first rail transit vehicle project exported in Anhui Province. In October, 2021, the company's self-developed low capacity solution, the guideway rubber tyred smart rapid transit system, appeared at the Beijing International Rail Transit exhibition, attracting industry attention and injecting new vitality into the development of a new round of urban rail transit. In November 2021, Wuhu Rail Transit Line 1, the first fully automatic driverless straddle monorail project in China, was officially put into operation.
CRRC Puzhen Alstom Transportation System Co., Ltd. IS a joint venture company between CRRC Puzhen and Alstom.
CRRC and CCRC are distinct entities. CRRC, or China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation, is a global manufacturer of railway transit equipment. CCRC, or Capital City Redevelopment Corporation, is a state agency focused on facilitating real estate redevelopments.
So mfer, parading yr know-nothing while simply fart about issues u hardly understand!
So so gungho in ur mfering China bashing.
Flashy Tofu Dreg technology is still Tofu Dreg..no matter how impressive it looks on the surface.
Deletewakakakaka… is that the best u can fart about?
DeleteOoop… is that how ur heirloom factory's product been masqueraded as superior make by coining wrong alphabets?
